It is all natural and appropriate for a newborn. I was including it with a quilt I had made for my niece's first child. The fabric had jungle animals on it with many giraffes. I incorporated a pocket on the quilt for the giraffe. My only reason for giving it 4 stars is that giraffe's don't have stripes.
