**Q: Can you latch it so the catch doesn't operate. The door this is gong on will at times need to stay unlatched.**
A: I don't think so. Ours is on an outside gate which acts as a fire exit so needs to be quick release. We have an independent hook to hold the gate open if it needs to kept open at any time.
