Review: Great upgrade for Yamaha NS6490 !!! - Bought this for a cheap pair of underperforming speakers - Yamaha NS6490s. I foamed the inside of the box to reduce resonance (made a huge difference alone). After having done some research, didn’t think it would hurt to switch out the stock crossovers. What a HUGE difference for a minimal outlay. The bass is much cleaner and tight. Mids are balanced well. And, the highs are airy and MUCH less “scratchy” sounding. Overall, these speakers are much easier to listen to. I use them for rear speakers and are switchable to Bluetooth stereo listening with my Aiyima preamp and amp. I hooked up speakers that handle each around 200 watts all 8 ohm. No issues. Sounds great. No soldering required which was nice. I like good sound but did not spend much on speakers. All my speakers were under $200 altogether. I put in 8 inch woofer 4 inch mid and a 1 inch tweeter. Put all into a yamaha ns 6490. I just changed all the speakers. Hope this helps.
