I even managed to tuck the step down regulator behind the plastic trim, after some thought, so that all that is sticking out is a short USB C cable. It is on all the time, not ignition controlled, but in parking mode on my dashcam this is fine. I do not know if I used keyways 1 or 2 because they aren't labelled, I used the black cables not the pink/purple and blue. Update: I have also fitted one to my Dads VW Sharan 2022 and it also works perfectly there, it is also always on (not ignition switched) but his nextbase camera operates fine in parking mode with that setup. I might try to replace the regulator with one from a 2 wire hardwire kit, so that it will then have a low voltage cut out. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great on a 2017 BMW 230i and a Viofo A229 Plus. *by on Reviewed in the United States 24 August 2026* Worked perfectly for my 2017 BMW 230i alongside a Viofo A229 Plus, way easier than running it to a fuse box or the battery terminal. Only powers on when the car is unlocked and hasn't phantom drained my battery or anything.
