desertcart Basics Hardside Spinner Luggage with Built-In TSA Lock - 30-Inch, Blue desertcart Basics

Review: Smooth ride! - Wanted to wait to write a review until we had at least taken the suitcases on an airplane and actually checked them in. When it comes to sturdiness, carry on trips don't really count since you are the only one handling the luggage. So the carry-on size was just perfect for a long weekend trip. Loved the smooth ride through the airport. I had a personal item (pretty heavy) placed on top and both rolled right alongside me. On carpeted areas it would take a little more effort but overall very easy to move. My husband has the same set but different color and he did complain that the handle was a little flimsy! I was able to fit my husband's suit in the carry-on by laying half the suit jacket and (folded) pants flat in the bottom of the zippered side, place his dressed shirts on top, with some extra clothes and fold the other half of the jacket over on top. I zipped up the compression side, which kept everything nicely in place and his suit arrived in tip top shape. I really like the zippered compression side because it keeps smaller items, like small toiletry bags or hairdryers from rolling around. The extra attachments that fit inside the suitcases come in very handy for keeping neck ties from wrinkling. I have not used the separate laundry bag but did unzip the lining on the inside of the suitcase to separate dirty clothes from clean. All three sizes have come on a recent overseas trip with us. The largest size was not able to withstand airline personnel, so now has a crack in it. It cracked close to the zipper, but no dents. Still usable but unfortunate! Makes you wonder if it will survive another plane ride! (and it's only been on one) The medium sizes did fine. Weight is so important, so was happy to notice that all sizes are lighter than expected. The built in lock is easy to program and easy to use. Nice not to have to worry about those tiny little keys that get lost or forgotten so easily!!
Review: Wish the lock feature didn't use hyroglifics.... - So the suitcase is great! The wheels move well and there is tons of space and compartments. After unboxing the suitcase I was eager to open it. I took to desertcart to figure out how and learned how to set the lock and open it. 000 will open it, push the button in and set a code and boom, push the lock. Worked like a charm. I couldn't figure out the hyroglifics, but managed to come up with the brilliant idea to use them to spell the word mom to make. Picture attached. It is honestly so weird the company doesn't use letters or numbers for the lock. I don't know why they would use symbols like a snake, mountain, circle with a squiggle on top, circle with a squiggle on bottom, intertwined rings, horizon, square, race track, upside down triangle with handle. I mean realistically it could make it harder for a thief to get into the case to guess your hyroglific code instead of your average everyday codes but I'd never remember mountain, squiggle on bottom and triangle with a handle. So I used the race track, square, race track to for the word mom. It will have to do for now. But seriously.. Great suitcase for the price. And yes I know the code is numbers, but I didn't realize it until hours later when I saw the suitcase sideways after contemplating the symbols and how to make it work for a good 15 minutes. Don't judge me. I'm judging you and how easy you got it, Kay?

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quality can be of concern, but there are some positives!
*by J***2 on October 26, 2018*

I agree with the comments regarding the quality of this luggage. I traveled internationally to JP with the 28" w/ tsa lock version of luggage for 2 weeks and I found the following. On the negative side: 1. The strap inside which holds down the compression divider broke during shipping. I didn't overpack, so this just might be a defect of my specific luggage, who knows. 2. I carried about 23kg in my luggage, and the top handle came off towards the end of the trip. I was unable to snap it back on. So basically, i was without a top handle which was suuuper annoying since i was carrying a ton of souvenirs. 3. There's nothing on the luggage w/ a name tag, So i had to buy a separate one -- this was no problem, except that the handle broke off (see #1), so my name tag fell off. On the positive side: 1. I thought the zippers were of good quality. 2. The amount of space was awesome 3. The lock that held the zippers into place were good 4. It's cheap! 5. Dual wheels for all 4 of the wheels -- pretty rare for a lot of these luggages 6. It's made out of "extra-thick" ABS which did seem to hold up nicely 7. The feet on the side were nice so that when I didn't want the luggage to roll, i could just turn it on its side. 8. The handle that moves up and down had two settings. This was nice.
