Small notches have a different form, no Shimano factory thread lock inside. They also came not tuned. Quality is pretty good though, it is really hard to see the difference if you are not specifically looking for that **Q: Are they originals** A: These are original pedals from Shimano. For this application - road/TT bike - this Shimano 105 SPD-SL pedal set offers great bang for the buck. Clip in/out adjustments=easy. Solid build (longevity/durability yet to compared to Ultegra/Dura-Ace, over time).
