The size makes a difference because the current maybe weak the further the locomotive goes away from the transformer. You may need to add another transformer or get a bigger size or add more electric current to the further most point of the tracks. You should check the connections of the track as well because a loose track could slow down or stop it all together. **Q: does it have smoke?** A: No it doesn’t unless you put a smoke unit in it yourself or it will not smoke or possibly in the future they will install a smoke unit in the set out of the box but that is not that likely **Q: Is the Height 3 inches** A: I don't really know, because it was bought as a gift. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nostalgic *by on Reviewed in the United States March 12, 2024* We always had a train under our tree during the Christmas season when I was little and then the train got replaced by presents over night on Christmas eve for the next morning. I never started that tradition with my own children but decided I wanted to do it with my grandkids. This train was perfect! It reminded me of daddy's old HO train set and it worked wonderfully! It is small enough to not take up a lot of space but large enough to be noticed and played with under the tree.
