It held 30 cupcakes on the 4 tiers and the smash cake on top. (I could have squeezed a few more cupcakes on it but 30 is what the 2 boxes made and they fit perfectly.) Assembly took less than 10 min and was super easy. I did use a little screw driver for the legs at the bottom and very top tier. Also easy to disassemble and put in the little storage bag it comes with for compact storage. One thing I will say is that if you’re looking to put any cupcake toppers on it, they won’t fit. I ordered 1st bday toppers but there wasn’t enough room between tiers so I couldn’t use them. The cupcakes were beautiful without but just an FYI. Will cale pops fit on the tiers?** A: I think it may be too short for cake pops. I use mine for cupcakes and I still have to put them on there easy so it doesn’t mess up the icing or decoration on top. It’s a wonderful stand though. **Q: Can the layers be separated?** A: Yes, they can be separated. The tiers are held together with stainless screws. In my opinion it is kind of a chore to disassemble and reassemble, so I just store mine assembled. It does come with a storage bag, but needs to be disassembled to fit into the storage bag. I wish it came with a storage bag that it would fit in assembled. **Q: Can this be used as a cake stand? I'm wanting a center support cake separater stand that will allow space between each tier.** A: Maybe? I used it to display cupcakes.
