Some of the parts didn't want to go into the places I chose but went in fine if I chose the next spot over. Isn't that the way?Once put together, it is very sturdy. I have absolutely no fears that it will collapse if I sit down even though I'm 300 pounds. It's a bit hard to adjust, but I won't be adjusting it much, so that doesn't bother me. For those who might, I think use will make it easier. I like that I can sit comfortably on it. I feel secure. The padding doesn't compress too much, if at all.I feel this is a quality stool and am very happy to be rolling around like a kid on it. Oh, and the padding wipes clean very easily.
