Carbon steel pans are likely the most simple and effective cookware ever created. Formed from a sheet of smooth steel, these original non-stick pans are up for any task. While carbon steel is commonly found in commercial kitchens and homes around the world, it has been overlooked in America for too long. If you have never used carbon steel now is the time to give it a try. Carbon steel is very similar to cast iron in its ability to retain heat, making it perfect for searing. The surface is smoother than cast iron and easier to season. If you are looking to upgrade from disposable aluminum or stainless pans, carbon steel is the perfect option. Our skillets are built by hand to last a lifetime and come from the factory fully seasoned with flax seed oil and ready to use. You can look, but you won’t find a skillet like this anywhere else. Made in Michigan. Lifetime warranty. **Lifetime warranty for US customers only.

Great pan, a pan to pass down, wonderfully made
I didn't like how heavy this pan is,however the construction is superbNow for the cooking review, EXCELLENT! responds a little slowly to heat so start with a lesser flame.Heat retention is less than cast and more than a other carbon steel pans, then it came factory seasoned, cooked with it sticking was an issue, so I cleaned it an put it on a medium flame for 25 minutes until it went blue then silver(FE304) was created on the pans surface, let it cool and put a light coat of oil oil on it then made eggs. Hockey puck on ice. This pan is ergonomically very good alsoI would have give this pan 5 stars if it wasn't so darn heavy.Cheers

Absolutely worth the extra cost, fantastic pan
I tried a Mineral B carbon steel pan from DeBuyer and this pan is much better in every way. First of all, the DeBuyer pan immediately warped the first time I tried to use it on my glass cooktop. I followed instructions correctly but it still warped beyond being able to use it. The Marquette Castings pan has a much more comfortable handle that also stays pretty cool in normal use as well as a better and pre-seasoned cooking surface. For me, the shape of the Marquette pan is also better and it hasn't warped at all using it on my smooth glass cooktop. With correct use it seemed truly non-stick right out of the box. I've owned lots of brands of cookware (All Clad, Staub, Le Creuset, Viking, Silit etc) and feel that this pan is absolutely worth paying a little more for. It is a fantastic pan and should last a lifetime so I feel I will get more than my money's worth out of it.

Sturdy and worth the price
If you like cooking on cast iron and have been intimidated by the vagarities of uncoated cast iron, this skillet is for you. It is sturdy as cast iron is; the handle is well-designed and securely fastened, and the coating seems to be long-lasting. It requires minimal care - but PLEASE read the instruction booklet! - and is the kind of skillet I will not have to replace and will probably give to my children as I age

Perfect Pan
This by far the best pan I've ever owned. It comes perfectly seasoned and a great way to get away from PFC non-stick pans. I've tried a carbon steel pans before and this is the first one where the handle is comfortable and doesn't get scalding hot.
