A ‘must have’ kitchen tool
The kitchen tongs are a breeze to use especially when you have to take out blanched items out of hot water! Although Baskety tongs are a little delicate in construction, they are very handy since one doesn’t have to wrestle with them😊 The locking feature, the ring to hang them to dry and the little pegs to rest them on the counter are very welcome features. All in all I’m delighted to use it.

This seemed the cheapest listing (at time of purchase) of the several listings (different brands) of what looked like the very same product. It must be made by same OEM (probably in China) and re-branded by several Indian companies.That said it is actually quite good and working as expected for now. the two little feet to keep the tong tips (which will be oily when using) lifted from kitchen surface is a nice touch. However, longevity needs to be tested - especially of the locking mechanism. If it fails in less than a year than I will completely change the rating.I don't really think you get much more by spending 5-6 times more in buying KitchenAid or Oxo ones, other than a peace of mind regarding assurance of quality. My friend has a KitchenAid and I don't see significant difference in quality (at least for now). I think those are so expensive because they go from OEM in China to USA and then are imported into India in small batches - if you check the US site they are between $10-15 which is sensible. INR 2k for a tong is too much!Note for long term use:The locking mechanism to keep the prongs together gave way after 6-7 months; so deduxting 1 star. It still functions ok (though more difficult to store), and the price was very low, so not deducting more.

The pair of tongs look very good , sturdy and nice buio quality.The silicone rubber looks high quality on first look.The metal forceps are very sturdy to hold and the lock mechanism at the top end ensure they clips start together when not in use.Will post a review after using it for a few days...
