I've been using the battery in an old Toshiba laptop on/off for over a year now and it works OK after cycling it if you would rather not pay full price to keep something going a little longer. Battery life isn't the same as OEM but it's usable overall. Today I removed the battery (it's over a year old now) and the lower part separated from the upper part with little pieces of plastic coming from the inside. I'll glue it back together since I am past the warranty period. Just be really careful with it until you decide to recycle your old laptop.

Been looking for a battery for my old Sony Laptop that is no longer bing made. I was told by best buy I would probably never be able to find one and if I do I would probably be better to buy a new Laptop then buy a battery or waste my time looking for one. 3 minutes on Amazon I find a charging port to replace mine because it was broken got the battery and charging chord. With total cost being less then $60. So do your research on Amazon before giving up hope on old computers. I was able to do every thing I needed to, together my laptop up and running Probably better than it was in college so don't always take Geek Squad at face value

I gave one star simply because it was delivered quicker than promised. However, I can give no other ratings because the battery did not work for me. I have had to replace the battery in my computer twice before. Both times I installed the battery in the computer and turned it on and and viola' the computer worked. This battery did not work that way. I don't know if it was bad or not. When I installed it. I attempted to start the computer with it. Nothing happened. I plugged my computer in and it did not show that the battery was charging. I attempted to see if my computer even detected the battery, at some point I was given some instruction for doing diagnostics. I took the battery out. I had wasted 30 minutes. I am not running diagnostics for something that should be plug and play.
