Q: Is the outdoor sensor waterproof?

it has a water proof seal mine has been mounted outside for some time and its still working

Q: The main unit is working and the remote is flashing, but no outside temperature is showing.

I had something similar happen to my unit I expect you may have already done this but I just took out batteries from main unit and also changed the channel from 1 to 3. Hope it works for you.

Q: The picture of the device shows the battery level indicator beneath the in and out readings. mine do not have this indicator. how do i set it?

The LCD indicator isn't a battery level indicator, but a low battery level indicator. You will only see it when the battery is low. You don't set it, you just change the batteries when you see it. To prove the indicator is there, look at the display in sunlight wearing polarised sunglasses. You can see it at some angles with some direct lights.

Q: Can two recievers be used with one sensor?

Yes, it supports up to 3 sensors.
