Excellent paper, and nicely made overall. Fits well in the Saddleback Leather "small Moleskine" cover.
First impressions: I like it a lot.Been using the 3.5 x 5.5 "ruled" hard-cover Moleskines for a few years now. They work well for me [note taking, bullet journaling, tracking expenses, etc.] Thought I would try the "dot grid" format, as a change from the ruled pages, and came across the Rhodias. Moleskine also makes a dot-grid 3.5 x 5.5, but it is somewhat difficult to find in colors like Blue or Black [at least, in Jul 2017].This Rhodia webnotebook is very nicely made. It is an almost twin to the Moleskine in size, EXCEPT that it is about an 1/8 inch thicker at the spine. I have the Saddleback Leather small Moleskine cover, and the Rhodia also fits it [thankfully! That cover is nice, and somewhat pricey]. The Rhodia paper is excellent; it has a wonderfully smooth texture, and the dot-grids are nicely subdued [Moleskine paper is only slightly above average, from my experience, and their dot-grid looks to be more prominent]. The exterior cover material is also nicer in the Rhodia, and the accordion file on the rear end-board is just as useful.I've only been using ballpoint for now, and the Rhodia paper has been excellent. I may be switching to Rhodia's webnotebook [even if I decide to give up the dot-grid format, and go back to regular ruled paper].

Rhodia = Best Paper & Dot Grid = Best Layout.
Rhodia uses Clairefontaine paper made in France. It's very smooth, silky paper with enough weight (90g/m2) so that most decent pens will not bleed through. The dot grid is perfect for drawing sketches or writing and is never obtrusive like graph paper or ruled lines. It is like blank paper, narrow ruled, and graph paper all in one. These have a ribbon marker and elastic band. They also have an expanding back pocket for small cards, notes, cash, and other objects. There is an extra black page at the front and back & the inside covers are black so you can write there with metallic gel pens or white. Pricy but the quality is well worth it.

Safe Keeping for Your Messed Up Mind
This little black book is gorgeous. Writing in it will make you feel like you're Lady Murasaki penning the world's first ever novel. Its leatherette visage is solid, subtly glossy and especially luxurious in black. While too small for my diatribes against McDonald's and their decision to discontinue McWraps, I use this mini Rhodia to record the most pressing issues on my agenda, like my 8 AM meeting or remembering that Jessica Simpson and Diana Ross are in-laws.

So far, so good. Plays well with fountain pens.
I got this to fit a leather cover. The notebook is used as an annual planner / modified bullet journal. The paper and binding need to stand up to daily use and carry for a full year. Rather than write a new shopping list for each trip (or wander around the store with my phone held up, trying to get reception), I write it in pencil on a designated page, then erase the purchased items, and use the same page for the entire year. So, it has to stand up to repeated erasing. I write on both sides of the page, in various fountain pen inks, so minimal ghosting and no bleed through are important. It has to have a hard cover, so I can write or erase without being at a desk, and the binding needs to be durable enough to hold a lanyard with a pen and pencil onto the cover, be manipulated into a leather cover, and have receipts, sticky notes, business cards, coupons, and other random stuff temporarily jammed into the notebook. Unlike other notebooks I've tried, this one has met all of those criteria so far. Granted, it has only been a month, but the binding on another brand (that shall not be named) began to give way after 3 weeks. The binding on this one is holding strong, despite being stuffed with an unusually large number of paper bits due to not getting it set up the way I'd intended before 2019 arrived. The first image shows the back of a page written in fountain pen, several pens, inks, colors, with little ghosting, so writing on both sides is clear and legible. The second image shows how much stress is on the binding, but it is still holding strong. The notebook is expensive, but worth it for my purpose.EDIT: The notebook has stood up well, better than any other I've tried. It even (barely) survived repeated erasing on my perpetual shopping list.I ordered another for 2020, and received a lined notebook with packaging stating it is dot grid. Unfortunately, I trusted the packaging and wrote on the cover, so I am stuck with lines. So, get these, they're great, but CHECK them, so you can return yours if it is mislabeled!

Perfect Paper for Fountain Pen Ink!
Rhodia “Webbies” contain, IMHO, the best paper for not only fountain pen ink, but pretty much every ink I’ve used.I find the sizes available are quite convenient for my various uses, and like that they are available with various preprinted page guides (such as dots, lines, blank, etc.).The are structured very similarly to the venerable Moleskine books, but are bound with superior paper made by Crane.

Even better than expected
This is a fantastic little notebook. I like to use Noodler's Bernanke Black ink in my Safari with fine nib. This combination bleeds through every other paper I tried. Not so with the Clairefontaine paper in the Webnotebook. The paper feels great; the notebook feels great. Pages are beautiful (on both sides) when ink has dried, with no bleed whatsoever. I plan to buy many more of these.

Carnet parfait
