works great
Started using this on a fairly new pond that was starting to build up with algae growth and suspended particles, first dose of this started working within the first couple days and the weekly maintenance dose prevents it getting bad again keeping the water clear, wont touch blanket weed though, this is more something that compliments the use of UV lights which clump microscopic algae together but is often still to small to get trapped in filters, this stuff does the next step clumping dead algae together that will either sink to the bottom or get caught in most fine filters, its also a natural product that doesn't harm fish or filters even in high doses.

Promising Start
I have a water feature of approximately 412 gallons capacity. No fish or plants. It is against a south facing wall so receives full sun. Two weeks after I filled it to a depth of 60cm (May 2014) the water took on an uncanny resemblance to pea soup. It was thick with algae and as quickly as I was netting it it would return. Following numerous discussions with 'pond experts', several videos watched on YouTube and I ended up taking a punt on Barleyclear. Following three applications over three weeks and I can now see the bottom of the water. The water has taken on a dirty brown look and when stirred up the dead algae rises to the surface for me to net it but this is a rather laborious task. Whether this will disappear completely I don't know. I suspect I might have to empty the pond next spring and start applying a weekly dose of Barleyclear to prevent algae being in a position to develop in the first place. Time will tell.If anything interesting develops over the next few weeks following more doses I will update this review.

Fab, cleared blanket weed in a few days.
This is brilliant! Worked within a few days after two doses. Been using another brand for last few years with poor results so thought I'd try this and glad I did. All blanket weed as now completely gone. Well pleased.

great product
I'd previously used Blagdon's product. Unfortunately they chose to bump up the price to the point that couldn't be justified in a recession (though that policy appears to have been reconsidered). So I looked around for an alternative and this from NT Labs was chosen. And it works very well. A regular application every weekend cleared/prevented algae in our wildlife pond after just 4 weeks and some clearing of dead vegetation (making sure any eggs or hibernating critters were safe). Now my pond is ready for spring. If we ever get one!I have enough stock for next year. Can't easily see me going back to Blagdon's.

Early days but does seem to be helping the pond ...
Early days but does seem to be helping the pond stay clear as claimed.I think it helped that I added the barleyclear to a recently cleaned pond. The test will come later when summer arrives ..but I will continue to top up with barleyclear as the instructions say and looking forward to seeing if the pond stays clear in the summer heat.

Doesn't work - plain and simple.
I have a very small pond (3' x 3' x 2') that was starting to go green with a small amount of weed. I followed the instructions and worked out the dosage. The first treatment did nothing so I gradually increased the dosage on subsequent applications. Still nothing. Because it has no harmful side-effects on fish I ended up using a x 10 dose. STILL no difference. This is some kind of con job.

so good. Keeps the water clear and helps to control ...
Using this product for a small container pond - so far, so good. Keeps the water clear and helps to control weed. Hoping it will last well, as mine's only a small pond. Happy with the price and the efficiency of delivery. Recommended.
