I am a person that LOVES to do their research before making any type of purchase, and I assure you I did my due diligence when buying this journal for myself. I wanted something that had a classic rustic and vintage look to it, while not being overpriced. I looked around and all I could find was these mass manufactured types of journals until I stumbled upon this one. The leather binding makes this one look like something straight out of Game of Thrones or some fantasy.The leather feels high quality, so soft to the touch and has an old school feel to it. You will notice at first touch that it is real leather and none of that fake stuff. It does have a nice leather scent to it and no smell of chemicals of any kind. The leather feels new at first and with few weeks of use, will develop a beautiful patina. I did however notice some scratch marks on the cover after some use but was able to easily rub them out with just my fingers.The paper is what made me love this journal even more. The paper has that nice paper mache feel to it since it seems to be handmade as well. It is smooth enough to withstand most type of pens. I tried first with my fountain pen and the paper had no problem holding the ink and I was able to write on both sides of the pages because the ink did not bleed through. The ball pen glided well and I didn’t have to press hard to get a good ink flow. I have also been using my mechanical pencil for some occasional sketching and have had no problem at all.So many of friends have been asking me where I got this journal and I keep referring them to this listing. I should probably get some sort of commission by now. lol. If you are looking for a handmade leather journal with a vintage feel, this is most probably the best choice out there. I bought this as a gift for my brother. He is much older than I am and so we didn’t grow up together. When we do get together, the stories of his youth and memories of our parents start to flow. He’s always been quiet about his time in Vietnam. Times with his kids and grandkids. I asked him if he would like a journal to write down his memories, thoughts, feelings and short stories. He is quite happy with it. Everything about it is quality. Butter soft leather and the paper is beautiful. Don’t we all wish we’d asked our parents and grandparents more stories and family history. This is the perfect journal for that.

Very happy with this journal. The hand-made looking pages are excellent quality for pen or marker. I like there's a pen holder, though it was not mentioned in description. The leather has an attractive old world look. I was concerned it might be awkward to hold while writing, but this is not so. It works fine. I use it every day. I saw similar ones but they were more expensive. This one is quality all the way at a great price.

I use this as a sewing journal. It is mostly full of my writing about certain patterns and fabric swatches.For this purpose, I LOVE this journal. It is very well made and has a sort of "rustic" feel to it. The cover does scratch somewhat easily so I would not recommend keeping this in a bag full of scissors or something. I mainly keep mine on my desk, so it is a non-issue for me. I tested out scratching it with my fingernail on the back cover, but it buffed right out by rubbing my finger over it. It shouldn't be that big of a deal methinks.I intentionally left the first page blank as the cover sort of rubs off onto it and makes it darker, but all the other pages on the inside are good quality and are a joy to write on.All in all, very happy with my purchase and I will buy another once I fill this one up!

I was skeptical that, for this price, it wouldn't anything more than "just ok". This is amazing quality! Cotton paper is a very nice touch. It even had a pen holder loop on the inside. I absolutely recommend this product! If you're considering this type of product, you've found it.

The leather has a nice feel. Plenty of pages unlike other journals. Has handmade pages.I am using this journal to record my previous doctoral notes .

Absolutely exceeded my expectations. Beautiful, high quality, real leather. The dye job is fantastic. The pages have a great weight and texture. This really is a superbly crafted journal and I love that it’s supporting small businesses. This would make a great gift for anyone looking for a journal, sketch book, notepad etc. Looking forward to this aging and adding even more character and beauty.
