The New England Mafia. Illustrated.: With testimoney from Frank Salemme and a US Government time line.

This was, and should have been a great read.But the spelling and typographical errors were terrible.Not to mention the repetitive paragraphs and statements.Do they have an editor at Amazon for kindle reprints?Horrible and disgraceful.The book itself is a rehash of already publicized events.But that was done very well by the author.If I were he I would be asking Amazon for more compensation because of the terrible job they did to his book when transferring it to kindle format.

The book takes you from the beginning of New England organized crime figures with hard to find pictures to the present with Whitey Bulger. Some of this material is just old recycled articles but there are some new stories and pictures that i have never seen before. This book will be more enjoyable for locals who can see where many of these fellows came from their own neighborhoods.

To those who gave this book 5 stars, what were you thinking? Have you read any books prior? This book is not only a rehash of other books and news stories but it also rehashes itself. There are pages of the exact same text. Word for word with some only a couple pages apart. Not to mention that it was never proof read. There are words added that just don't fit, and its all over. Even from the supposed transcripts of Frank Salemme there words added and or out of place. I've read most of the true crime books out of the Mass-RI area so I maybe a little harsh, there is a lot of good facts in this book, but its just hard to read with all the errors and double prints. You would be better off looking to other sources for the info.

If you are looking for a fun read, this isn't it! It is however very factual and mostly testimony, and gives a different insight to the Patriarca, Rhode Island, Boston family as it was. Vincent Teressa's books on the subject gives an earlier look into the same group in a less factual basis, and would be better for the casual reader.

This held my interest, read it in two sittings, quite late at night. Most of the main characters were familiar to me, being a born and bred New Englander, got a kick out of some of the descriptions. A good easy read with lots of history and Mafia insight.

Pictures unlabeled, editing errors galore and a miss mash of information or simply poor information.Sections have incomplete information with dozens of pages (with redactions) on testimony.

This book is fairly priced and is filled with much information!
