Works just fine. This cable is used to connect a segate drives tempature sensor to an iMac, in my case a late 2009 imac model. In my case i replaced a hitachi drive with a segate drive, there is no temperature sensor standard cable so each supported drive manufacturer needs a unique cable. Without a sensor cable your imac will runs its fans at full speed, rather noisy. Google it...
