Meh
I am continuing to use this cymbal on a rehearsal kit but I have not been immediately won over by its sound. I have another 18” xsr, fast crash that I prefer. I could not spend much on a rehearsal set of cymbals and the XSR certainly fits my price range. This cymbal is not horrible it just sounds flat to me- neither trashy nor glassy. I have a 19” which is awesome (trashy) and a 22” (unique). The 18” seems to lack character or a defined beneficial attribute.

Flat sound
More like a ride than a crash. I was looking for a dark sound but this is so muted it doesn't feel right. Sounds ok on recordings but the quick and muted tone isn't for me.

Vintage sound with Modern Tech
Beautiful and unique crashing ability paired with some definition for riding and a great bell!

Great cymbal, bad packaging, don't order from Amazon
Amazon literally threw this cymbal in a thin cardboard box with absolutely zero padding or protection whatsoever besides the plastic bag. Cymbal edge came with two noticeable dents. The cymbal itself is great if you know and like the Monarch series. These cymbals are dry, with little sustain and are very specific in sound. Do not order if you want a standard sounding crash. Do not order from Amazon period.

Well made cymbals, just lacks a little something.
This ride is a bargain at the price I bought it for, it is well made and looks the dog's wotsits for the money. The only downside to this cymbal is it seems to lack in the way of character, the cymbal is very one dimensional in tone and does not project as well as I was expecting for a 21" ride, the small bell is clear with a nice ping but again lacks projection. The ride itself is very usable and will fit well into many different types of music and for the money it's a very good buy, just for me it lacked a little personality compared to the rest of the XSR range of cymbals.

Amazon never package music gear correctly. You're setting yourself up to fail if you order here
Sounds terrible. Arrived damaged.
