Lots of theory in this book
Lots of theory in this book, but on the other hand you need some theory to make great music. Mostly is about chord progressions and blues scales which is something that gives the blues some personality.

¿Where are the tracks?
I can't understand how this book can come without the original sound tracks. I think it should not be sold without them. Had I known I wouldn't have bought it!

Disappointment
Keep it short and sweet. This is not a very well put together book. You get the same information with more licks and solos in the master edition without having to be a master. This book should be titled "blues guitar theory" because that is was 90 percent of it is little playing mostly practicing theory.

A better choice would be Real Blues Guitar by Ken Chipkin ...
If you started with the first (Beginning) book in this series you will be VERY dissapointed by this follow up book. Simply put, Matt's Complete Blues Guitar Method (intermediate) spends WAY too much time rehashing stuff covered in the beginner book (nearly 50% of the book). Such an unfortunate and lost opportunity in my opinion, not to mention an insult to trees that were harmed in the making of the book.A better choice would be Real Blues Guitar by Ken Chipkin (be sure you get the book AND cd). His is a lot more comprehensive (beginning-advanced) covers theory (i.e. explaining the what's and why's of chords and scales used) and provides all sorts of fun licks and riffs (some easier, others more challenging) that you'd actually hear a real blues guitar player use (thus Ken's title). Real Blues Guitar covers lead and rhythm playing in the style of several blues guitar greats and is worthy of a 5 star rating.I have both books mentioned in my review here - bought them both about 6 years ago. Matt Smith's looks almost new and is dusty. Ken Chipkin's looks well-worn and loved. I presonally refer to it from time to time for playing inspiration and have my more serious blues guitar playing students work from it. You'll be hard pressed to outgrow the contents of Real Blues Guitar. Better yet, you'll feel like you've more than gotten your money's worth.

Be Careful and read the complete description - no Matt Smith on the DVD
Disappointed, the book may be Matt Smith but the DVD is not Matt Smith. My initial thought was the wrong DVD was added to the bookThis purchase is like buying a book by one author and then having the enclosed DVD by someone else.I had previously bought Matt Smith's Chop Shop which must been of the best instructional book and DVD I have ever seen and was eager for more Matt Smith in text and on DVD.Page 5 of the Book gives an overview of the attached DVD and does not mention that Matt Smith does not appear on the DVD. GrrrrrrrMost of the book's content is replicated in Chop Shop book which I think is the better buyChecking on the product description I discovered my error, Well if I had scrolled down the full description and read that the "new DVD was Jared Meeker" probably would not have bothered to order this. I have not yet seen all of the DVD so Jared may be OK, but I feel a bit cheated out of more excellent Matt Smith Tuition.
