Great product! 5 stars
Well built—sturdy, feels great, nice details. Package contains two short screws and four extra-long screws. Definitely helped strengthening the installation. Door closes without any issue. And it looks sleek (although nobody will be staring at it)! Love this one.

Security
Changed from a broken out door frame and catch. This one solved the problem. Sturdy and priced right.

Very heavy-duty, less expensive than other solutions
An idiot maintenance man made a mess of the door jamb when he installed a deadbolt on my front door. He drilled the door jamb first and installed the strike plate, THEN drilled the door and installed that hardware. Of course, the deadbolt didn't meet the strikeplate correctly. I'd always been taught that you install the door hardware, put lipstick on the end of the deadbolt, and with the door closed, engage the lock...the lipstick will transfer to exactly where the door jamb needs to be drilled. Anyway, he pretty much hollowed out the entire door jamb trying to figure out where to put the strike plate. The door trim was all that was left by the time he got done. Anyway, I looked at solutions to fix the door jamb and some were longer variations of this, but at a cost of nearly $100! Since his mess was more horizontal than vertical, I did't think I needed something the length of the jamb to fix the problem. This was the perfect solution.

Sturdy, looks great. Cheaper at HoDep
Looks great, very strong, easy to install. Fit perfectly. Use 3 inch screw to improve safety of your door. No one is kicking this down.

Good product!
I bought this to temporarily fix a door that was kicked open and a normal plate would not work. It works perfectly and honestly looks pretty good. I might re install it after repair.

After a break-in a few years ago, I purchased one of these strike plates for the deadbolt on each of my exterior doors, and installed each one with six 3" screws. A few weeks ago, someone tried to kick in my back door while I was out. The impact more or less destroyed the deadbolt lock mechanism, but the bolt held, and this strike plate (which was completely unharmed) prevented them from gaining access. It's an inexpensive and fairly easy upgrade if you don't mind using a chisel to expand the strike plate fitting. Definitely worth the time and money to better secure your home against an intruder.

I bought it cover an old hole from a door that was swapped out. It works.I did not realize that it would be so visible and annoys me, so I intend to do a little carpentry to use the old one for aesthetic reasons. But if you have a damaged or different height recess in your door jamb, this will let you door latch and lock..

Adds strength
Great way to add strength to a flimsy latch set. Installation can be really easy (if there is a large enough gap to just screw it in place) or a bit challenging (if you need to chisel down the frame a bit).
