tiny, but POWERFUL, with HUGE display!!!
Wow, hard to fathom multi meters have gotten this small! This meter is a full function meter, and yet, it will easily fit in your shirt pocket. Its will now allow for internchangeable leads, but u can buy a larger meter for that... at this price, this meter is a no-brainer, for us tool junkies. For a small meter, it has a HUGE display! A great plus for us 45+ in age, easy to READ! Nice little case as well. Unique product, highly recommended for easy carry!

Good Value for the Money, No Frills, Few Options or Modifications Available....But Gets it Done
This is my first foray into playing with electricity, and so far it's been pretty straightforward and well, I'm still here to write a review so catastrophe has been avoided.I had a specific job in mind when I purchased this multimeter, and honestly, it was the price and other reviews that made me buy in. Not wanting to blow too much on an unknown item, the cost/benefit analysis made sense and today...it makes much better sense. The device is simple to use, and very straightforward. I've been able to really get some good use out of it and I'm pleasantly surprised at how many opportunities I have that this can help with. It's got multiple settings, and is capable of measuring everything including a tablet battery, or a microwave light bulb socket (trust me, those two I've used it for...good news on one, not so much the other). My only complaint, and in the future I'll likely buy another device that offers these features....but I'd like to have the leads be about twice as long as they come; plus now that I've used this, I see the advantage of having one with the ability to change and use different leads and alligator clips depending on the job. This is a simple, easy, beginner's multimeter.....not much pizazz, but for me, it has been ideal. I'll outgrow it in a year or so, but by then, I'll be much more comfortable investing real money into one, thanks to the run I had with this cost-effective and well-meaning device.

Compact and Convenient Multimeter
I am reviewing the MSR-P600 Digital Multimeter - First the unit was packaged very well, and it arrived in new undamaged condition. I was surprised at how small and compact the unit is, about the size of a deck of cards and it comes ready to use out of the box. A user information sheet was included and was clear and easy to read. The unit comes with a very convenient protective storage case which makes it easy to carry in a toolbag or technician bag without fear of being damaged. Overall I was very happy with it's appearance and ease of use. I was able to accomplish what I set out to do with this unit without difficulty. It comes with the test leads and battery pre-installed. I would definitely recommend this unit for basic testing needs. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is the test leads are not removable as far as I can tell, so I can not comment on the durability of the leads or even if they can be replaced if they do get damaged. However, for the price paid it is an excellent value and could easily be purchased again.

Packs a punch for such an inexpensive unit.
Starting on Arduino projects I needed a new multi-media meter to replace my old, ancient brick I bought many many years ago and a multi-media meter that can test capacitors in addition to the usual measurements. What attracted me to this unit was 1) the price, 2) the compactness of the unit, 3) the attached leads and 4) - as funny as it sounds - the easy to turn knob. For the sub $20 price this unit does not disappoint. Some reviewers have stated the leads to be short. Yes, the leads are shorter than my older unit, but I still find them plenty long. As far as measurements are concerned, I have found the unit pretty accurate. I did have a problem correctly measuring two of the various capacitors I tried the unit on, but considering it was spot on on some of the others, I can only conclude said capacitors were indeed bad. The unit does NOT come with a backlidt screen and it also does not have a kickstand. On the other hand, remember that this is a relatively cheap unit and even comes with a case. So in summary, for the price I love this unit and find it perfect for the majority of DIY projects. .

Crap out of the the box x 2; device haunted
Voltage display is CONSTANTLY changing when leads are not connected to anything- in the last thirty seconds, readout went from -17.5v to 10.6 rapidly down to 10.9 up to 11.6 then real fast to -16 .6 and the display is driving me crazy.POSSIBLE SOLUTION : DEVICE IS HAUNTEDmales sense.Numbers are not random, they are a code that I supposed to intrigue me, then draw me in. As I get closer and closer to the meaning.[Insert spooky ]I AM WRITING TH I S FROM INSIDE THE MULTIMETERSAVE YOURSELVESALSO ME.AFTER YOURSELVES PLEASE SAVE ME.I MEAN I DID GOTO THE TROUBLE OF WARNING YOU AND ALLTouch the leads to Where a bench power supply set at 5v is going into a circuit and display shows a rapid climb to 143 v then a drop to....I bet you get my point.I cannot trust any reading if gives out. The rapid randomess is filling mme with anxiety, and worse of all I got 2 of them based on the good reviews, for a v v important gig I start Wednesday am.Luckiky, there are still radio shack stores nearby. Is there any support for these products? Went tic their site, sent an email, but no forums or troubkeshooting or any kind of support that I could find .Just received them today, both act crazy and have a total use if less than five minutes.Took 3 photos, as you can see noth I n g is touching the leads but data sure is coming from somewhere

Good product
Very cool pocket sized meter. Comes with battery pre-installed and instructions/manual. It also comes with this cool semi-transparent case that can also fit in your pocket. Very neatly designed and looks professional. The +ve/-ve leads are good quality and wires are good as well. I graduated from an electrical engineering program so I used many meters in labs during school. This is a very simple and easy to use device and I would definitely recommend this product for those looking for a decent multimeter.

Quality, easy-to-use digital multimeter.
I've had two of these units now. The first was giving random readings, so it was returned easily as defective. The second one, however, is working very well.Pros:The user interface is very easy to use. It's made of high-quality plastics, including the probes and wires. It is accurate to the specifications stated on Etekcity's website product page.Continuity beep is instant and clear.Snap-in case is nice quality and convenient.Cons:No backlit screen or button option.Auto-ranging could be a little quicker/more stable (sometimes it won't settle on a number).Replacement probes must be soldered in.Does not have option for alligator clip probes.Potential damage if the probes touch voltage when measuring resistance. The voltage and resistance settings are right beside eachother, so this could be an easy mistake to make. The instruction booklet states to be careful of this, so be sure to keep it in mind when testing.Overall, I'm very pleased with the Etekcity MSR-P600 digital multimeter. The multimeter, probes, case, packaging, and instruction booklet are all of very nice quality. I find myself reaching for it all the time due to its convenient size and feeling in-hand.So far it has helped rescue an original PlayStation 2 unit, and helps all the time with battery and fuse testing.I'd be glad to purchase another for myself for a friend, and easily recommend it.

Pro: Very small unit that Auto selects the range.Con: The wires are not changeable and they keep getting tangled. they're fairly short, normally not an issue but gets troublesome sometimes. It would be nice to be able to switch these wires with an alligator type clip instead as well.It sometimes struggles to get the range, takes maybe a few second, again not a deal breaker for me since I use this rarely.Overall, i'm happy with this even though it's not sturdy or quick. It's small enough and comes with carrying case. I would probably spend more next time and get something better with interchangeable leads

Buy this.
Exactly what I expected. The only thing different than what I expected is that this thing is TINY, but in a good way. It is pretty much the size of a smart phone. Every other multimeter I have ever seen before is ugly and clunky. This is elegant, and small. Functionality is as I expected, pretty standard. The convenience of the auto-range feature is also a plus. Over all, this arrived on time and exceeded my expectations. I would recommend this.
