Been using it for about a year now, its has significantly made shoes much more comfortable. Women's shoes are notoriously narrow and squeezes your toes together which has effected my walking gait. These toe stretcher helps give a little more toe wiggle room to move. I did have to sand one down because the wood was a bit rough with a few splinters, but not a big deal.

These shoe stretchers work very well!

These are really really good. Wood is oak, I'm pretty sure -- has a clearcoat on it. Sturdy. Does the job well. Intuitive -- both controls are righty-tighty, left-loosey. Two small quibbles: 1) A couple of plugs were a little hard to insert. Plastic controls left me feeling not 95% confident that they wouldn't break...but the good news is that before I got too worried about it, I was worried more that I might be overstretching my shoes to the point of harming them; so these things are pretty darn strong. Definitely recommended....update, medium flaw, down-graded from 5 stars to 4 star. Flaw is in threads being a little too sharp. As you tighten and loosen the mechanism, the threads can ride on the top/back portion of the shoe -- it cut a thread holding onto the little pull tab on my tennis shoe. The "fix" is to be careful when inserting the stretcher to ensure that the threaded mechanism isn't touching the top/back portion of the shoe; i.e. leave a little gap so that turning the knob/screw won't cut into the top/back of the shore.
