The Original and The Best
So, the Champagne stopper I "inherited" from my first live-in girlfriend when we broke up in 1987 finally fell apart (it's the one on the right of the pic, obviously). It was a really good Champagne stopper, and I was pretty bummed out. Luckily, the name was stamped on it: Franmara, Italy. So, wow, they still make them, 34 years later! And still Made in Italy!Don't settle for the junky copies. This is The One. It works great, and keeps your bubbly, well, bubbly. I use it after pouring each glass, to keep the wine fully carbonated. It's also good for storing an unfinished bottle for a day or two. That depends on how much empty space is left in the bottle. Some of the lower ratings look to me to be user error, by the way. To use this, put the Champagne on a stable surface. Spread the steel "wings" apart as shown in my pic. Put the stopper in the bottle and use one hand to press down firmly - it's spring loaded, and you'll feel the springiness. Then use your other hand to close the steel wings. Let up on the pressure, and the flanges on the steel wings will engage the ridge on the bottle's neck and hold the stopper on.To remove, just press down and spread the steel wings apart again.Enjoy your Champagne!

Message to Seller - show photos how to properly use
Just received this today. I've tried several "wine stoppers", but I drink champagne and they will usually "pop" out due to the pressure build up. I would suggest to the seller to add a brief instruction, as I initially thought this would not work due to the rubber plug being much smaller and very loose fit in the bottle. After reading some reviews, one customer posted two pictures, one of which that shows the tabs locking in "under" the bottle neck. To get it to work properly, you have to push down on the Stopper (its spring loaded) and engage the two tabs under the glass ring. The concept is great. I will provide a update after I have used it for a while.

This Champagne Stopper Works Well!
Here is a Champagne Stopper that actually works. The long nipple that fits into the bottle is the key to one that works v.s. one that doesn't. This one has the longer nipple, and that is good. It holds securely to the bottle, and after a couple of days a half bottle of Champagne still has lots of bubbles. This is an A+ product.

A good solid product.
These are really hard to find and most will only fit one kind of champagne bottle (i.e. California sparkling wine or French Champagne) but this one fits both. Easy to use and quite efficient in preserving the bubbles, I plan to buy more as possible housewarming or hostess presents.

Great purchase
I love this champagne stopper. I’ve had it for 4 years and it still does a great job keeping the bubbles in.
