Chicken Soup for the Jewish Soul: Stories to Open the Heart and Rekindle the Spirit

I've had this book for several years and like both its content and the visual appearance of the cover. So I ordered it from Amazon as a gift for a friend, but am quite disappointed by its visual quality. Both books are paperbacks but, in this one, the cover lacks the elegant look of the earlier version, and the text is printed on cheap yellowish paper with somewhat blurry font. Obviously, the publishing company cut corners on production.

If you like reading about Jewish people and communities you will enjoy this book from beginning to the end! Shalom!

The "Chicken Soup For The... " series are all a pleasure to read. This one does in fact speak to the heart, a refreshing chance for me to get away from the thriller fiction books attracting me and then often disappointing, leaving me with the thought, "Is that all there is? Obviously, the stories are about Jewish people, but they might just as well be about any people thrown into the same circumstance. And they all appeal to what's best in all of us. Read it.

Lovely reading with laughter and good counsel and real life

Chicken Soul for the Soul is just a very nice read. Its like sitting down to eat your favorite comfort food or cozying up to a fire with a cup of tea. Enjoy.

What amazing testimonies, some of which I have photocopied and sent to friends around the world. In so many instances the seeming coincidences can have no other explanation but God. I just love these stories and totally recommend this book

I got this book a year or 2 ago & really liked the stories. Why aren't there more Chicken Soup for the Jewish Souls? I notice there are quite a few Christian Soul ones, which is good, but there needs to be more Jewish ones as well, and maybe other religions?

Not over impressed, did not have a decent receipt for a good old jewish chicken soup which was why I bought the book in the first place

Lessons contained that are valuable for all, no matter what their religion! I am buying more of these for gifts.

There are many different titels of books in the row "chicken soup for the soul", thus I had a look for a Jewish one. And I was not disappointed! The short stories are heartwarming and give a flash of light in one or another grey day. Due to the short stories it is possible to read one of them even in very stressful moments - and then a big smile or a deep breath or even some tears are the result. However a short moment of being in another but still in a Jewish world. I will keep this book as long as I can!
