Great replacement for the plastic one that broke. Need two people to install unless you have really long arms. I suggest keeping the old rubber grommets and use those, the metal rings that come with it will scratch your hood. I wish it came with a larger nut, it is difficult to put on the very small nut provided. Once you drop it it's gone into your engine compartment forever. Much sturdier than the original.

This is a very good replacement. The rings that accompanied the tie down are useless. This metal tie down is the way to go.

Looking at other reviews, you will probably do what most others do. You will install the new tie down bar and throw away the garbage bumper bezels/surrounds. They shouldn't even bother including these. As for the tie down bar, it looks of better quality than the OEM plastic one that broke as I was removing it. I do wish the new part came with some larger washers or larger diameter nuts. You have to be very careful when installing that you do not over tighten the bolts or you risk denting your hood. Only tighten until firmly held in place, do not torque it down.

I broke the cheap plastic one on my Jeep (thanks Jeep what were you thinking!?!) and I got tired of looking at it so I ordered this. It's pretty much what it is, a tie down bar and these two flimsy rings that I suppose go over the windshield bumper stops. However, on a 2006 TJ the bumper stops are too large, and the accent rings did not sit at the bottom of them. I just threw them out. But the tie down bar looks great!

Awkward to install because of location on hood. Tiny nut and washers make more awkward, but install successfully and looks great.

I needed a replacement after finger-tight was too much when reattaching the original. Taller and thinner than stock. Very tight getting in place. Didn’t care for included nuts and washers but the original nuts worked fine. Didn’t bother unwrapping beauty rings.

These are from Rugged Ridge. Painted footman loop. Seems fine. As good or better than stock. Only upgrade to these I could see would be stainless nuts or to have it powder coated. In general it's a quality piece and a great update for old OEM worn out hood tie down loops.

Direct replacement fit everything included, nuts are a bit small so I use the ones that came off the original footman loop. plastic vacuumed type sealed hardware in 3 separate compartments so you cant loose bits when you open the bag you just open each compartment as needed.Outside hood washers are a bit hard so I doubled up with my old ones which are softer and the thread was plenty long enough for both.Tip 1: use CRC a few days before or original nuts will not loosen and eventually snap threads and old loop so they will just spin.Tip 2: if doing by yourself like I did use masking tape over the loop to hold down onto hood else it will just fall out loosing top washers because you cant hold the loop with one hand and fit underside nuts with the other the distance is too great.

Perfect fit replacement for my missing mount.
