This composition book was the replacement for the original order. This composition book had more damage than the one originally ordered. Easy refund process but still required me to take time out of my day to drive to UPS store to return. Had to do this twice.

I've used this brand for years. One of my chemistry teachers required that we use this brand and I can understand why. It's a little bigger than an average composition book, closer to size of a wire-bound notebook. Most importantly, the cover is stiff cardboard so you can write in the book even if you aren't at a desk or table. You can write standing up! The spine can be opened all the way (like a wire notebook) to make the footprint of the book smaller - easier to write on a small desk or using your arm as a brace. I've had many of these notebooks and open them all the way about 30% of the time. Never had one rip or come loose.The only downside is that the pages are thin. Almost all my pens bleed through enough to read through the other side of the page. I use colored fine line bullet journal pens. If you want to use both sides of the page you have to use pencil. Ballpoint pen would be okay if you don't press hard when you write.Also be aware that the pages are blank and unruled!

Listen, you're not getting a Moleskine - but that's exactly what I wanted. I love thin paper, the way it feels when you turn the pages - like I'm in an old timey Poirot movie, searching for clues. Solid binding, hard cover is hard. Will buy again for sure.
