Perfect
Okay, so I bought this because I was looking for a file that I could use on my models. When this came in, I realized that it was to big to be used for what I needed (I know, it's my fault). However; using it for the proper job (Since my BIL stole it from me) it worked pretty well, I guess. So, if you're sharping fish hooks or sharpening knives, it's really good....If you're using it for what it's not supposed to be used for like filing figures, it probably won't work (Don't know why I didn't figure that)

It sharpens ok.
Wished it sharpened with less work.

If you purchase high quality hooks, this will save you money down the road.
I'm very pleased with it, not only did arrive on time. I watched a video on YouTube how to use it. He did it 3 times on each side. I only needed to do 2 on each side. Plus the video show's how to do smaller hooks. You actually do them on the side not in the groves. I mostly use Circle hooks no offset 3/0 and up. To buy quality hooks is not cheap, well to me. I can see the difference between buying new hooks or for the price of this sharpener. It will save me money down the road.

Good value for the price
I like them first time used, and worked out well

Great for the price
Great for the price. This has worked wonders on my saltwater fishing hooks that have corroded over the years. Gets them razor sharp in a matter of minutes. Be sure to sharpen "against the grain" for best results by driving the hook point into the sharpener. In the beginning, I made the mistake of sharpening in the other direction and it didn't do as good of a job.

Sharpen da hooks.
Yep, it sharpens hooks. I bought 1 here. Went to a place that rhymes with leesway and bought 5 for the price of 1 found here. Of course I had to wait 2 mos to ship on that slow boat, but now I'm stocked in every tackle box.

I LOVE IT!
You may be put off by the short length of the sharpening surface.Once you get used to sharpening a knife on a rounded river rock the length of the sharpener isn't an issue.I place the index finger on the sharpener and hold the rubber handle with thumb and middle finger with my hand at the spine of the knife. You can determine the grits of the two sides because one side has one groove to sharpen fish hooks or awl. The other side has two grooves. The rubber grip on the handle end is tactile to prevent the sharpener from slipping.

Sharpens musky hooks
Small but adequate for sharpening hooks for any size freshwater fish (large hooks for musky, small hooks for bass)

Decent
I lost my first one , now on my second one. I find the first one I got to be better quality. Either way dose the job it's meant for . Could be a bit cheaper price though.

Feels cheap but works well
Handy little hook file. Was hoping for something that felt higher quality, but I honestly can't complain. Tried it out on several older hooks and they came out better than factory sharp. If you can get over the cheap feel of it, this is a great piece of kit.

What every angler needs in the bag
Really nice quality, very suprised actually. Very sturdy and handle is firm and perfectly sized for my tackle bag. Lanyard is cheap nylon rope that i'll probably change out but its not terrible. I mean you cant beat the price for the quality of the tool itself. Would definatly buy again if i lost it over the side of the boat. 10/10 you should buy this. A dull hook is a lost fish.

Perfect to hang on your fishing gear anywhere!
I keep this on my tackle bag. The red handle and bright yellow lanyard is nice an visible so you cant lose it and it is easy to clip to the carabiner on my bag. Great compact size. Its flat and easy to fit in your tackle box drawers too.
