Derby DustCar Axles for Pine Wood Car Derby 100,000 Grit Optical Polish

Just received my Derby car axles two days after the order was placed. I am happy to see what I received .The polishing job was well done. Examining each carefully, I see almost all the surfaces of the 4 axles are perfectly smooth and shiny like mirror except one. That one has the inner side of the head near the edge not polished as thorough and shiny as the other 3. But I am OK because it is close to the edge where a domed wheel will not make contact. I had purchased this kind of polished Derby car axles before from other places. They would have different levels of ring and ridge marks remaining. They never got as smooth and shiny what I just got.I read another review about the diameter of the axles smaller than the standard. In fact, when I fit the standard axles into a standard wheel, they got stuck. I have to force the axle into the wheel and the wheel won't spin. I think the polishing makes the diameter of the axles smaller and fit better.

We have been participating in the BSA Pinewood Derby for years now and these axels are fantastic!!! I normally do the polishing but this year I decided to have this done for me. Ours were above and beyond our expectations and we took 1st place in our den. Get these if you can .. they will save you lots of time.

Great set. Last two years I spent countless hours and energy perfecting the axles, which has always paid off with 1st place overall. This year I was lazy. Bought these, added weights, paint and polished wheels, came in 1st place overall again. Thank you for saving me 4 hours of my life, well worth the money!

Super impressed. The heads are not beveled so you need to do that yourself, but it saved a TON of time hand polishing. I was skeptical, but they ran like champs.

I don’t often write a review but I cannot let this one go.This is a total and complete rip-off. The axles are polished for sure but nothing like the mirror-like finish in the product description or the picture. They not oversized at all, i used a professional caliper to measure them, and each one measured at 2.20 mm while regular axles measure at 2.24 mm.
