THis switch was a perfect fit and was much cheaper than the VW brand one. I popped out the old one and directly plugged this one in. It worked perfectly and looked just like the original.

When I noticed that the mirror control knob in my wife's Volkswagen had broken, I was initially quite upset, figuring it would probably cost a small fortune to buy a new part from VW to replace the broken one. Fortunately not so, as I found out after checking online. To my pleasant surprise, I managed to buy this Hong Kong knock off on Amazon for appr. $ 7 plus shipping. First off, you do NOT need to remove your door panel and mess with all the electronic switches and other door innards for this job: Once you have carefully poked out the old switch with the help of a painter's knife or something similar (it may be a little tricky; be patient and possibly cover the edges with some tape to prevent damage), you simply reconnect the new switch to the little electronic plug from the old one and snap it back into the opening of the door panel. The new switch is a real tight fit - at least mine was - so I am hoping I won't have to do this again any time soon. But now both door mirrors can be adjusted again and everything works as it should.

Recieved it in a very short time (less than two weeks). I actually haven't installed it yet. Bought it as a back-up since I understand these switches go bad often, but mine still works. Great price. Good reviews for seller before-hand. I have no complaints. Would buy from this seller again. If my switch goes out and I install this one, I'll re-submit my review.

This item fits but DOES NOT WORK on my 1999 VW New Beetle. It doesn’t light up, and most importantly, it DOES NOT OPERATE the side mirrors. Returned and ordered a new one from local Auto Parts.

I didn't expect much since it was coming from China. My experience with China has been abysmal. However, this product was good. Perhaps the Chinese are waking up to the fact that North Americans want quality not just cheap crap? Regardless, you product is wonderful. Thank you!

Amazingly, the item (shipped directly from China) arrived in a timely manner. It looked official and matched the original just fine. Except for one small problem... The lettering for "L" and "R" seemed to be upside down and/or backwards. Then I saw what they sent. This switch is for a RIGHT HAND DRIVE vehicle, like you would find in England or Japan. I installed it and now it is a funny story to tell people when they notice.

I flip a couple cars a year, and of course there is usually something missing or broke in the interior. I bought a '03 VW Passat wagon and the knob was broke off the mirror switch. So after searching around for a good price, I found this item here on Amazon. This mirror switch fit perfectly. Both mirrors work as prescribed. My only complaint was the shipping was unusually slow.
