It Just Keeps Getting Better
This is the series to read, whether you're a longstanding fan of Transformers or not. Heck, this is the series to read if you've never picked up a comic book before. I can't recommend it strongly enough. This volume contains a double-length "Annual" issue, which delves into the mythology of the Transformers' origins. Sadly, some of the art just in this one issue is not as good as the art in the rest of the series, but we will forgive that because......This volume also contains the three-issue "Shadowplay" arc, which is EXCELLENT.James Roberts uses different story genres to great effect in this series. We've had sitcom, horror, ancient epic, and with Shadowplay, we get film noir. This arc focuses on Optimus Prime, one of the most memorable characters of Transformers; but the story takes place before he gained that title. It ends with one of the biggest shocks in the history of Transformers comics.Read this series. Every page is a wonderful discovery.

Forget about Reading about Robots
More than Meets the Eye continues to be one of the strongest books about the robots that turn into cars and planes that has ever been written. In the hands of James Roberts, the franchise has risen above the 'to-sell-toys' stigma of the Transformers and taken the title into a realm of well written science fiction adventure. Volume 3 of the series takes break from the forward moving story and plays in the past, with Roberts mastery of non-linear story telling giving us a well balanced flashback issue that is both 'Shocking' and hilarious.Alex Milne continues to shine as one of the best artists in IDW's stable, matching the styling of Nick Roche whose work has been so intertwined with Roberts' writing since "Last Stand of the Wreckers."Milne takes only half of the credit for Volume 3 as the first half, "Primus: You, Me and Other Revelations" is drawn by Jimbo Salgado, Emil Cabaltierra, and Transformers veteran Guido Guidi who produced a magnificently drawn flashback echoing back to the old Marvel comics from the 1980s.More than Meets the Eye lives up to its name!

Great read
Again, I cannot stress enough how amazing it is the way these robots are portrayed with such human emotion and characteristics. Great stories, with emphasis on 2nd tier characters and directions never used before with our favorite Bots. Get it, read it, read it over and over in the future!follow me on instagram rolling_steel

Fairly enjoyable
I really like the off beat storyline and b cast characters. My only complaint is not the comic so much as the kindle format. It would be nice if it was possible to zoom. Some of the smaller text is almost unreadable. I prefer some of the other comic reader apps that let you go frame by frame.

Just gets better and better!
Seriously, what can I say about this book series that could ever own up to its awesomeness? Thus begins a convoluted tale, an epic quest (yes, I did use those words intentionally!) and the snark and snappy shots abound. In this series, you will run a gamut of emotions, but every book will leave you tasted-up for the next installment!

Puramente Transformers!

Best thing to happen to Transformers since Simon Furman
Quirky, funny, tragic, daring, inventive, addictive and wildly entertaining, James Roberts' loveable rogues are a fanboy's dream - avoiding the usual cliches and tropes of the TF universe entirely to create something fresh and original. Not bad for a franchise thirty years and running!

excellent
This series just gets better and better. Its a flash back story dealing with events taking place just before the civil war in Cybertron. And theres one massive twist right on the very last page that will have you wetting your pants.
