I am helping someone with his life story. To my delight, I found a story of the dam that irrigated his rice fields along with the story of the engineer who designed it. Beautiful photos. I enjoyed all the stories and photos that didn't have anything to do with my research, too. Lovely book. I'd recommend it highly.

have not finished the entire book, but is written so that you can pick it up, read another writersreview of whatever place they may be. I have found that is what I like most. now that I'm older,have a tendency to read some things more slowly, grasp the image of the life surroundingthe area. Have lived in a place, Singapore, where the population is very diverse. My childrengot their education there, and is amazing how different the schools are compared to the Americanschools, along with many local cultures.

Wonderful stories of folks discovering their family heritage. I had wanted the book for quite a while, but waited until I could get a used, but good quality copy. Score!!!
