I have an IKEA wall lamp, and this bulb fits it. Finding a bulb to fit that lamp has been a pain in the neck. I've only found one store near me carries this kind of bulb (only one brand: GE), and it is often out of stock.A package of two of the GE brand light bulbs costs less than a package containing one of these. However, I have a problem with the GE brand: They burn out rather quickly. I haven't used this bulb for long enough to determine if it will last longer, but I will update my review once I know.Update: I originally posted on Feb. 14th, 2013. Last night, April 7th 2013, the first bulb went out. I have two lamps. One lamp is switched on an average of once a day for about fifteen minutes. The other one gets switched on about two or three times a day, sometimes more often. This lamp is on for about 2-4 hours at least once a day. The light is usually only on for less than fifteen minutes during the other occasions it is in use. This is the one lasted 7 weeks and few days. If I remember to, I will update again when the bulb that is used less often burns out.

I use this in my wall mounted Ikea light for reading, and it provides more than enough clean light for reading at night in a dark room. I actually almost wish it gave out less light...but I suppose I could find a bulb with less wattage for that. The light is nice and directional and has just a hint of softness which is nice when reading things like magazines and the such. Highly recommended is you want that small space saving bulb for your reading environment.

I like the bulb fine and I needed it very bad, but when I received it in the mail it was broke in a million pieces! I had no choice but to re-order and hope for the best. Not cost effective for me to ship it back.

I rediscovered my old lava lamp, but it wasn't turning on. I bought this to replace that bulb, hoping the bulb was just burned out and I didn't have some wiring problem. The light bulb arrived two days after I ordered it, which I was very pleasantly surprised about. Of course, the light bulb worked, and it does look exactly like the picture (sometimes it's necessary to mention that).

After searching all of the local hardware stores and big box retailers we almost gave up. Then we found this lamp on AMAZON! This lamp has the flat front that is required to use in a lava lamp. All of the other bulbs were rounded on top and wouldn't allow the top part of the lamp to sit properly. We are now grooving like it's 1967 again.

Its tough to find intermediate (E17) base normal light bulbs around here as most sockets are the mini (E10/12) or 'standard' (E26) bases. I had a couple of Euro-style lights and just wanted a 'normal' bulb for them. This did the trick and with prime it showed up right away.The flute of this bulb is silvered on the inside, so most of the light is directed in about a 100 degree angle away from the base rather than in a more general all-around direction. Worked great for the spot lights I had, but something to keep in mind depending on what sort of fixture you're putting these lights in.

Super cheap but because of that it burnt out really quickly. If you are in a pinch, then buy it, but if not splurge and buy one for a few more dollars and have something that lasts longer.
