Icebreaker just brought these back by popular demand, after having discontinued them a few years ago. They are as awesome as ever, and I'm so so glad they're back. They are super lightweight and breathable, dry quickly, and are very comfortable for everyday wear as well as heavy activity such as cycling and hiking. My previous pair is almost 5 years old, and just got it's first hole where I pull it up on the side with my dang nails. Shows absolutely no wear otherwise, color is still great and no failing elastic or thinning fabric. It's been super durable, I wear regularly and for everything, then just hand wash in the shower. I got a pair from Smartwool at the same time and it started falling apart years ago. These are for travel since they dry so quickly. These are my fave undies from them, because they offers the right amount of coverage and don't ride up at all. Also shows fewer panty lines (on me) than most bikini cuts.

I hate panty lines, and unfortunately these have them, thus the 4 stars. I bought 3 pairs for a hot and humid hiking trip, and they were terrific, which you know if you like wool t-shirts. They don't absorb sweat, so they never feel damp. The fabric is a good weight for underwear - not too heavy, and they are soft enough - while wool does tend to be itchy I didn't notice any itchiness when wearing.

Bought a couple of pairs of these undies for an extended river trip in the Arctic. The undies themselves are absolutely fantastic—held up better in the field than any other pair I’ve ever owned. BUT—oh my god—the itchy stitching! Not really noticeable when walking, hiking, standing, but sit down and just wait. Spent a ton of the trip scratching at my bum along the seams. Way itchier than my many, many mosquito bites. Found if I turned them inside out it wasn’t nearly as bad. If it weren’t for the itchy stitching I’d replace all of my undies with these. So incredibly disappointing. And uncomfortable. Use at your own risk!

These panties are great for working out. I use them under my hiking pants and under ski pants. The wool doesn’t get soggy and stays in place nicely. They are bigger than they look in the picture and they do not stop panty lines. They do function very well to keep you comfortable hiking, snow shoeing, cross country or alpine skiing. I have used them so far in winter and spring.

Not happy with this product at all , despite good experiences with other icebreaker gear. The hipkini does not feel true to size (runs large in my opionion) and worst, it stretches upon wear and wash (even following instructions). This is either fake product or just not made well as I’ve had pretty good experience with other icebreaker merchandise

I love these undies and would buy 10 more if they weren’t so damn pricey. Nothing else compares in comfort, temperature regulation or odor control. A must have item for hiking and backpacking.

These did pretty well on the dryness scale. Also fairly soft for wool. I just don’t love the fit as they’re pretty darn low and they give some pretty visible lines even through denim jeans. Would love a higher rise with smoother seams!

I absolutely love merino clothing and have dozens of Icebreaker items - my only complaint is the price! These 'shortie' style ones are more comfortable for me than the bikini briefs, but they're excellent for wearing on hot days as they wick sweat away and dry fast. Will buy more pairs if I see them in the sales!

I wear size 10 uk sizing and ordered medium, they are quite stretchy so small may have been better, having said that they are very comfortable to wear so long as they don't stretch with wear or washing.
