Perfect!
I couldn't ask for a better value. It works just like the pricey ones I have used in the past at work. This one is a great value and I would recommend it to anyone who is starting out or doesn't want to pay top dollar. It works the same, it looks the same. Nothing wrong with it.

Just as good as the name brand
I teach an intro metalsmithing course at a college and my students really love using this lighter! In the past we have just used the regular flint scratch lighter and it works fine but students get a little overwhelmed because it takes a few strikes some times and then they tense up and get nervous. This lighter is just so much more user friendly and in my own experience doesn't make as loud as a pop when the torch ignites. Weirdly there is a little rubber/plastic sticker thing right around where you put the tip of the torch and if you don't move the torch away fast enough this can burn off. One of my students torched this by accident and stunk up the whole room so I would remove this when you get it so you don't have that same problem. Other than that it works fantastically, just as good as the expensive ones you get at jewelry supply stores.

Is a great for hands free lighting of your torch
Is made out of a burn proof material and is small enough to fit on a small space on your bench

Works OK for cost
I chose to try this before commuting to a $55 striker via Rio. Works ok, a little awkward to use but overall decent for the price.

Best igniter ever for my Smith Little Torch
2 AA batteries power the ignition spark. No hands required to operate like a striker, freeing you to focus on operating your torch. Simply turn the torch upside down and gradually turn on your fuel gas as you push the ignition switch with the tip of your torch. You hear the clicking noise as the spark is released. It continues to spark as long as the lever is pushed. Remove your torch promptly when lit to avoid damaging the ignitor. The ignitor is small and not in the way. It never needs to be picked up and put back down like a manual striker.

Okay for the money
I have a plumbers torch and this works well with it, it is intermittent at best with my butane torch, and does not work at all with favorite pencil style Mapp gas torch. These are all air/fuel torches.I have not tried it with an oxy/fuel torch but I imagine it would work fine.

Look no more...this works!
It's small... light weight ... reliable and inexpensive... need I say more... last I looked NASA didn't need this to ignite rocket motors... but it probably could... so forget the rocket science... and shut up and buy one... lol!

Awesome
Can't believe I went so long without this on my soldering station. Had to make some adjustments with electrical tape so I didn't get shocked but even with the exhaust fan on high I can light torch easily.
