Great Resource!
If you want to become a better teacher of writing, then this book is for you! I am a huge follower of Regie Routman's teaching methods, and I think this is her best book yet. The greatest part of this guide are the step-by-step lesson plan suggestions, each of which guide you over a 5-day period of time. The lessons cover a variety of genres and can be adapted for any grade level. The DVD shows Regie in action, conferencing with students. If you're serious about wanting to change the way you teach writing, read this book!

Useful for teachers.
I liked it.

Decent material, but redundant.
This was a mandatory purchase for a class, and although I did learn some new things from the book most of the material is repeated to frequently. I think the book would be great at 50 pages and less expensive. The other thing is that many of the ideas in the book are common sense, and are just renamed into catchphrases. At the sheer number of pages in the book I guess I was hoping for a little more content, and fresh material.

Physical Book is in Great Condition; Content is Outdated
I purchased this book for my writing class at University, and unless you have to buy this book for a course I would advise against it. The research and results are outdated, the layout is not reader-friendly, and there's a lot of fluff that takes away from the important information. The book is in great condition and I have no complaints about shipping or any of the like.

Useful and easy to read
Great book with lots of useful info. I've been teaching for 10 years and still got good tips.

My students are caring about their writing. They want ...
My students are caring about their writing. They want to impress their audience and they don't see it as a chore. We celebrate others successes often and they look forward to seeing their next steps instead of dreading constructive criticism. You don't have rock your ELA foundation, but Routman's advice are additions to my lesson planning.
