Tissot Men's T17152652 PRC 200 Watch

Real swiss timing, very solid construction, in the three years I have owned it I have had to adjust it due to lost time.... once? Maybe twice? The stop watch functions are perfect as well and the claims of being good underwater are no joke. The watch can also take some good scuffles as I get up to some rather active things here and there and after taking a half dozen or so good hits it still works. The crystal also never cracked or scratched to boot, just some scuffs on the case itself. In addition to all this the watch also has a very classic professional look that is quite clean and never fails to impress. I had had more than one person compliment me on it over the years.Only complaint.... The leather band wont hold up under any sort of physical activity or lots of sweating from such activities. If you are in the market for a Tissot PRC 200 style watch (there are many styles) do yourself a favor and pay the extra bucks to get one with the metal band. Then if you feel the need go to a company like Hirsch and buy yourself a nice quality leather strap to swap in when you want. Heads up for those looking to get a new band for one of these watches, they are 19mm bands which can be pretty tough to find. If you are getting a leather band you can get a 20mm one to fit but it will be tight.Tissot is a great watch maker and this is the best "cheap" swiss watch you are going to get. Can't recommend it, or Tissot as a company, enough. So if you want a real watch with solid mechanics behind it made by real professionals... you could do quite a bit worse than a Tissot PRC 200.

It's been 15 years since I purchased a "real" watch. My wife bought a TAG as a gift many years ago and I switch between the TAG and a $75 watch from Wal-Mart that I use for running/working out.I was looking for an every day watch to fit between the $$$$ TAG and a Wal-Mart watch. I took a few hours reviewing different watches online and ended up liking several of the Tissot watches, although I wasn't familiar with the brand.I chose this one which the user's manual calls the Chronographs G15, but described online as the PRC 200 - don't think I knew the name when I purchased and will probably not remember again after this review.The watch was delivered in an 8"x4"x4" box which included the watch; a small catalog; and a 260+ page hand-sized book on the Tissot company. The small user's manual is hidden behind a small compartment in the box and the English instructions are about 8 pages of a 164 page booklet. I threw away everything but the watch and manual.The watch is just what you see online and appears as other reviewers have described. The large yellow "arm" and two top small circles work in conjunction as counters - not part of current time. The large yellow arm is the seconds; the small right circle contains tenths and the left circle tracks up to 30 minutes. Other than timing my kids racing around the house or holding their breath under water, it's doubtful I'll use these functions much. I doubt I'll run/workout with this watch unless I'm traveling and don't have the Wal-Mart watch along. The small circle in the middle bottom is your watch seconds.For basic features, it's easy to set the date and time and use the counters. Evidently you can count consecutive timed events and pause the timers, but I didn't bother to read the manual on those functions as I'll never use them.The watch looks nice. The face is fairly large, but it doesn't look too large even though I have average-sized wrists. I use the middle hole on the strap. It doesn't feel heavy on your wrist and sits comfortably.The strap that comes with this watch is definitely the weakest part about the watch. It's synthetic leather and feels very cheap/stiff. The clasp is a butterfly clasp which is not too different than my TAG, but took more than 20 seconds for me to put on or take off which was too much. The look and feel of the strap, coupled with the frustration of the butterfly clasp was enough for me to switch it out for a new strap from the local jewelry store after one day of wearing it. The replacement strap I purchased is a regular buckle/leather black strap with white stitching - I think it actually looks much nicer than the fake leather strap that comes with the watch.Overall, it's a very nice watch. My wife thought I spent significantly $ more than I purchased the watch for through a vendor via Amazon and the watch face, mechanism, buttons, etc. seems to be of very high quality and all feel solid.I've given the watch an unenthusiastic 4 stars. If Amazon allowed, I'd probably give it a 3.5 mainly due to the watchband and clasp. How about the watch portion a 4.5 and the strap a 2.0? I think they could forgo the book about the company and invest more in a higher quality band.

I received the watch this afternoon and opened the package with keen anticipation. The Tissot box was ripped in the front and the bottom of the box where the manuals are stored was detached from the rest of the box. I was quite shocked and disappointed that Amazon would ship out something in this state. Opening the box the watch was in there obviously returned by somebody and the cellophane sheet that covers the watch was in one corner. The strap was bent and obviously had been worn by somebody else and returned. So, all in all I would give Amazon a negative 1 but I don't think it's right to ding the watch for it.Now, coming to the watch,1. Thickness - I don't like watches which are obviously large and I was a little worried about the 12mm thickness spec. Most of my watches are quite slim & I am happy to report that this watch though quite thick looks nice.2. Strap - I had read the reviews and most people seem to hate the strap. Personally, I think it's fine. The latch mechanism is similar to my Longines and I am somewhat familiar with it. It is a little stiff but I think it will probably soften with time.3. Dial - The dial is gorgeous. Looks very classy.The yellow on black looks nice and I am happy I went with the black version instead of the white..So, I have tried to compartmentalize my disappointment with Amazon and am giving this watch the 5 stars it deserves. I called amazon and expressed my displeasure and they did drop the price on it. Amazon did not have any in stock so I decided to keep the watch and take the discount.Also, I am a Amazon Prime member and have generally not had a problem with products bought on Amazon.

"The stainless steel bezel attaches to a jet black synthetic leather strap"... is an awful design choice. Although the watch is beautiful, there hasn't been a single day in the past 2 years where the watch stayed on my arm comfortably. The stainless steel bezel always detaches and when it stays on it simply creates pain. Get a proper leather strap!

I stumbled across this time piece while researching watches and have discovered that it has quite a following. It is by no means the best watch on the market but is definitely the best watch in that price range. It is well built and looks stylish.Great starter for a watch collector!

I bought my first Tissot watch in 1974 in Switzerland, Model PR-516, which has a mechanical movement. I think it cost about Stg.40. Until a few years ago I wore this watch constantly and it never gave a hint of a problem. I decided to give it it a well-earned rest and put it into semi-retirement - bringing it out to give it an airing occasionally. I decided to treat myself to a new watch and being a creature of habit I opted once again for Tissot, this time I picked the Black Dial Chrono, Model PRC 200. I must say the delivery time was excellent. As soon as I saw the presentation case, even before I saw the watch, I knew I had made the right decision. The case on its own exudes quality - the total package just gives the feeling that a lot of thought went into the product and the watch has the quality and appearance that I had hoped for when I picked it. The strap is quite novel, it is a combination of a steel clasp and leather strap and I find it very easy to use. To sum up I am very happy with my choice and purchase and I have no hesitation recommending this watch.
