Every couple of years I have to replace the ceramic rope gasket on the door of my Lopi clean burning / high efficiency fireplace. This wheel is great for cleaning up the area where the high temp cement is applied to hold the seal. I use it on my rechargeable 3/8 drill.It is a messy job best done in the shop or outside with a dust mask. safety glasses and gloves (whatever the manufacturer recommends).I am pretty sure it would work on other brands too.

Bought this to deep clean the burnt-on crap left behind *under* the cast iron grill grates of my new-to-me- CharBroil infrared propane grill. A neighbor gifted the old grill to me thinking it was on its last leg, so I refurbished it. The CharBroil "infrared" series has some funky-looking heat dissipators that rest between the propane burners and the cast iron grates that sport a 1/2" V-groove between rows of small holes no bigger than a match stick that is supposed to allow the heat to transmit across the grates for more even cooking... a great concept, but a chore to keep those small holes free of charred bits of debris that fall down there. If not cleaned, these small holes get clogged and defeat the intended purpose.Forney to the rescue! This wire brush on my cordless drill solved the problem with just a little effort, saving me some time and a healthy dose of aggravation. I suspect my well-meaning neighbor never got around to cleaning them properly judging by the amount of charred crapola I cleaned in a just a few minutes with this brush. The new heat dissipators weren't cheap, but this brush should serve me well over the years - it's the perfect size to fit into those v-shaped grooves with little effort. Thanks, Forney!

Using this to clean surface rust off a large 4ft x 3ft metal plate. This wheel is great quality and is lasting much longer than I expected.

Forney's earlier products seem to hold up better -- these wheels appear to be cheapened versions and the wire wheel bristles bend much faster, easier than others.

I used this product to fit onto a gadget I have which cleans the joints in my brick paving. You can imagine the harsh environment it works in and it did the job admirably. Lasts really well and well pleased with the purchase.

got the job done as expected

I use it mainly in a high speed drill to clean welds and some rust removal. The courser bristles work well although I haven't used it enough to judge durability yet. Recommend.
