Classic oriental scent
I'll admit, it took me a while to 'get' Shalimar. Depending on your persepective it either smells very glamorous or a bit old fashioned. Initially I also had trouble with the balance between the floral and spicy notes, but for me the solution lay in the EDP formulation which seems to work better on my skin than the EDT. If you are new to this perfume I would recommend experimenting with both to see which you prefer. This is definitely a 'grown up' scent, it has depth and sophistication but is not at all shouty and attention-grabbing. Although there is a vanilla note it is not a perfume with much sweetness, which may or may not appeal to you. For me it is not a scent for all occasions - sometimes I want something with more warmth and fun, but I have grown to love Shalimar and the classic bottle is beautiful.

waste of money
I used Shalimar years ago and was thrilled with the price so treated myself. Sprayed it liberally and waited for complimentary comments, but no one could smell it, me included. Tried a few times but could not smell even faintly . Gave to my daughter and she's having the same problem. Lovely bottle!

The perfume is stunning beautiful feminine smell day or night can be worn.The perfume lasts all day long which is fantastic I really do recommend this gorgeous perfume 😍
