Clear, informative, useful workbook
This is a true "workbook" filled with great information and useful "work sheets". As someone who has dealt with anxiety for 30 years, I am happy to find such a good, comprehensive, easy to understand book. I am going to share this with two other friends who might benefit too. Frankly, if you don't have access to a good counselor (luckily I do), this book would be a great place to find some tools and eventually some relief of your anxiety. The reading and exercises encourage honest self-reflection and analysis. If you're ready to do the work, this book will help! I purchased this book based on the strong reviews. I have developed a couple of phobias I'd like to work to manage better. I feel confident this book will help me. I took about 12 pages of notes while reading it, and that process alone has helped calm some of my fear! Thanks to the author and other reviewers.

Good guide to examine anxiety attacks
This book was recommended to me by my therapist after I suffered from a few severe anxiety attacks and still deal with minor ones on occasion. It is a good book to examine where the anxiety stems from and what could trigger the episodes. It has some tests to take to dive deeper into the reasoning behind it all and it written in an understanding, not too clinical way. It has helped me understand my anxiety better and suggested many coping strategies. The book also deals wit phobias which I didn't read into much because I don't have any phobias.

Great, but dense
Making my way through the book slowly but steadily. As someone who has suffered from severe anxiety for basically her whole life, my therapist recommended this book to me and I'm glad she did. It is definitely full of lots of useful tips, but it is VERY dense. It definitely helps rationalize things and put anxiety into perspective, while also giving a good background of how anxiety can culminate. It's a good read to help you see that you're not alone, and there are ways you can learn to help yourself cope with anxiety. For those of you struggling with anxiety and/or phobias I definitely recommend it, but take it as a casual read or you may get overwhelmed.

This book is a game changer
I can't recommend this book enough, it has been a game changer for me. I initially bought this book due to a mild phobia a couple of years ago, used the techniques outlined in this book and overcame the phobia rather quickly. Fast forward a couple years and I picked it back up to read the anxiety sections of the book and found very helpful tools (conquering negative self-talk, how to deal with generalized anxiety, etc.) that I was able to put to use right away that not only helped me, but prevented me from seeking medicine alternatives to ease the anxiety. Granted, I am not dealing with high-level anxiety but for someone who needs some guidance and everyday tools to manage mild-moderate anxiety, this book is it. Highly recommend.

Helping me take my life back!
I originally suffered from agoraphobia and panic attacks 16 years ago. After being on an antidepressant for 14 of those years, I decided to stop, face withdrawal symptoms and get control of my life without medication. After 4 months, the panic attacks returned. I was right back at square one, This is the best book I have read on the subject of understanding anxiety and phobias and coping with them. The strategies really do help to diminish these horrible feelings. I am still a work in progress, but I strongly recommend this book to anyone who needs to understand what is happening to them and wants to stop it!

Was not new
The book wasn't in bad condition, but it was advertised as new and it wasn't. It appears to have been someone's textbook with notes and markings throughout.If you want a new book, look elsewhere. Aside from that, the condition is good.

Great Tips
I bought this for my wife, who is a social worker. She bought this book to help with clients. It is filled with tips and ideas to help with anxiety and phobias. It is very easily laid out and easy to read. She also says the book is interesting and that many of the tips are effective. It was a good addition to our resource books. I would recommend this to anyone working in the mental health field or even for anyone who wants to use it to develop their own coping skills/manage their own anxiety and phobias.

Take back your life!!!
As a person who has struggled with anxiety for many years I was desperate to finally be able to understand and take control of my anxiety, I was fed up with this nasty monster having control and power over me. I sat down and started reading and within a few pages I was understanding tge source of my anxiety and some methods to help change my frame of mind from negative to positive. Anyone who suffers from anxiety knows the biggest challenge is to stop it in its tracks before your panic attack spirals out of control, this book gives you the tools you need to fill your toolbox and help you get your life back! This book made me really realize that I am not alone and to be able to admit I needed some help to overcome the hurtle of anxiety! This book isn't only for people who have anxiety it's also a great read for spouses, family or friends of people who have anxiety, it helps give them the understanding they need to be supportive during times of heightened anxiety or panic attacks. This book is amazing! I'm ready to take control! Anxiety is no longer going to control my life, I am going to control anxiety!
