31 mm Shoei RF-1200 Cheek Pads

Great pads, made my helmet way more comfy

Long story short I have a medium size head and Shoei M size helmet was squeezing my eye balls out. Factory pads are 35 mm and these are 31mm and it fixed all the issues! Helmet still fits snug, but is no longer painful to take on and off and does not press too hard on the cheek bones. Works perfect now! I wore it for hours the other day on a long ride and no problems and it does not twist while turning your head at normal highway speed.Bottom line, it works.

These pads got my large Shoei helmet from an uncomfortably snug fit to a tolerably snug fit. I used the Shoei sizing chart and measured myself 3 times and every measurement showed I would need a size Large (I have an XL HLC as L in that brand does not work). The headliner in the Large Shoei fits pretty much the same as the XL HJC, but the 35mm cheek pads were uncomfortable. These 31mm got the fit to be tolerable and I hope they will feel better as they break in. After seeing the number of reviews from others that say the 35mm are too tight, I think Shoei should either include both sizes with this $500 helmet or make the 31mm size the default.

Easy to install, made my new Shoei helmet more comfortable than the thicker pads that came with the helmet, and easier to put it on and remove it. Fast shipping as well.

Pads are easy to change to customize fit. It’s just a shame to have to spend more money on a $500 helmet to get a correct fit. The 35mm that comes in every helmet from XS to L fit too tight. My head size is at the top end of medium so I went with Large. The cheek pads were far too tight cutting circulation. Once changed the helmet is a perfect fit. Snug without turning my face red.

The padding on this helmet is poorly designed and difficult to reinstall. Needs to be redesigned.
