Plastic stretchers = easy to break
That Babyzen charge £40 for an umbrella that, by the looks of it, ought not cost more than £20, is irritating. It is doubly irritating that even for that money, you do not get a well-made, durable product. My umbrella did not survive for 2 weeks, and broke down after a fairly gentle brush with a bush. It really was not a violent collision, yet a spoke - a "stretcher" - snapped, and on inspection turned out to be ... plastic. And yet, having looked a no-name replacement bought for £10 on eBay - with holes in the fabric already developing, and a fiddly attachment mechanism - I am going for a replacement rather than a refund. Shame on you, Babyzen.
