RockyMountsMonorail 2-Bike Platform

We are very pleased with our Monorail hitch rack and have used it often since purchasing it about four months ago. It was easy to assemble and it is easy store since it folds up. We have used it for both mountain and road bikes and both fit securely in the rack. It is a sturdy rack, but we periodically have to tighten the bolt that attaches the rack to the hitch. Especially when we drive on dirt roads to get to trails. It come with a lock and cable, but we add more cables to secure our bikes and never let them out of our sight for long. Unfortunately cable locks are not theft proof. When used on our Subaru Ascent, our back door can open with the bikes on the rack and it tilted down. When used on our Toyota Tacoma, we can open the back window with the rack tilted down however there is not enough room to lower our tailgate. Overall this is a great rack at a great price and we would buy it again.

Once you see a picture of the finished product online, this rack is simple to put together. And it is rock solid, and so easy to use! I love that part of it. Bikes are easy to load and secure, and the tilt away feature is a cinch to operate. I am very happy with my purchase!

This is a great bike rack. Very sturdy and secure. Unfortunately for me it is too heavy and sits high on my hitch. It was difficult for me to lift my bike up on it. I'm bummed that it didn't work out for me. I regretfully returned it.

I'm really impressed with this rack mount! It's sturdy, easy to install, and holds my gear securely. The cable management is great, and my bike looks sleek. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it blocks the radar sensor for my car when attached. Not a huge deal for me since I don't drive too often, but might be an issue for others who rely heavily on that feature. Overall, it is still a great product, and highly recommended

The bike rack was relatively easy to assemble. I recommend watching the assembly video online before putting the rack together. There are a few subtle things in the video that are not completely obvious in the instructions. I switched to a wheel supported rack to take the weight off the cross bar while traveling and I am not disappointed.

Solidly made rack that holds bikes securely going down the highway. No bouncing or bikes rocking back and forth. Great price and it works perfect for our Durango.Sell was super fast answering all my questions and upon arrival, a piece was broken, the turnaround time was quick with a replacement part. This platform bike rack is sturdy, solid and secure. It comes with all the parts and tools, except a screw driver, that you need to assemble it. The clear directions make assembly a snap. Screwing the bolts into the nylon lock-nuts takes some effort but once it's tight it's secure. I can lift my bike easily on the rack which is only about a foot off the ground. The front wheel slides right into the boot and the sturdy lock-bar holds the front wheel in place. The back wheel is locked in by an easy to use adjustable strap. My road test with two bikes mounted proved how sturdy and secure this rack is. The bikes didn't sway, jiggle or bounce regardless of road construction in some places. All in all, I highly recommend this Rocky Mounts Monorail system.
