Good for the buck!
Its a great rod for dries. It's a little flexible for nymphs. Still a good product!

Great Quality and Value
This rod is at the intersection of quality and value.Pay less (like my friend did) and you might get a faulty rod tip that snaps during normal casting, an unfortunately common issue among budget fly rods...Pay more and the rod probably will be a little better, but not enough to justify the added cost. Not unless you can afford the top tier rods. It's no Sage or Winston rod--but it doesn't have to be. It costs a lot less and to be honest you probably won't know the difference unless you've been casting a fly rod for more than a decade...For the price you probably can't beat it!

Poor Quality
I purchased a 9 ft. and 10 ft. Clearwater flyrod. Love to fish with these rods, however both broke at the second section while casting. I will send them back for replacement for $60...I guess I can't purchase a flyrod for $60, however if they break again I will not send them in for replacement I will toss them in the trash can.

Love this rod!
This rod is amazing! So light, it's like you're holding air! Casts like a dream, typical of Orvis quality. I know this rod is made in China, but Orvis has done a great job ensuring they are building them to their standards. Throw in the 25 year guarantee, and it's difficult to fault this rod. My only beef is they don't include a fly holder above the grip like most rods have. I wish it had one, but it's not a deal breaker for me. Plenty of options to get around that issue. Seller shipped extremely quickly and the rod arrived in just a couple of days.

Quality control?
Bought end of July. Took it to montana for a long planned fishing trip. Only used it once previously. First off, the rod handles very well. Tossed large dropper rigs with ease and handled size 16 dry flies very well. As many have discovered, these rods are made in China, but this seems standard with most rod companies. The alignment dots on butt and mid-butt were off. This is a small issue but for 200 bucks, kind of expected better. My real issue, was the mid-butt section breaking on the first day of the trip. This was the 3rd time I've used the rod. I heard a crack during the back cast and then the top three sections flew off the rod butt. Found the mid-butt section had a crack where the ferrule joins the section. Have a 25 year guarantee on this rod, but it still costs 60 dollars "handling" to replace the rod section. For a rod only used three times and about 45 days from purchase, this seems a bit much to me. Hoping that after getting this repaired/replaced that I have no further issues as the rod has a lot of great reviews. Maybe just a bad batch on this one.
