Did what I needed
Showed up on time but in rough shape. Thought it was used at first but it cleaned up ok. Item was Amazon fulfilled and seller , when contacted, offered to send a replacement or refund if I wasn't satisfied.I tested this on a Canon 5d mII with 24-70 L f/2.8 and 200mm L f/2.8 prime. The benefit is that you can shoot with shallow depth of field on very sunny days. The pictures were clean as expected but do note that this will start to vignette at the widest angles of the 24-70mm ( not really a problem for me because I actually didn't mind how that looked ). I researched the product's strengths and weaknesses before purchase and found no surprises. I wanted the quality to put on the L lenses I have. I was not disappointed. This is a very expensive option to go with but I enjoy the control I get by rotating into what exposure I'm looking for. The only gripe I have is that I can't lens cap this so when not in use, I just take it off and store it in it's case.A friend bought a very inexpensive version of a variable ND and was dissatisfied with problems like visible cross patterns in his imagery and coloring issues. I plan on doing some dslr video work with this and will comment further with the results.

Really great variable neutral density filter but..
It doesn't stop down enough for the price you pay. That said, color accuracy is excellent and best I have tried (have tried Hoya 8 stop and Singh Ray 8 stop). Fianlly purchased the Singh ray for best accuracy for the money (still expensive though)

Armature photographer review
My first "real" camera set up is a Panasonic gh3 with a 25mm voigtlander nokton prime lens. I bought this particular nd filter as I had seen a camera review by Philip bloom and he suggested it was a good one. It's amazing when you want to keep the lens as open as possible, this filter allows you to dial in to exactly the right setting. I have it on my lens religiously. The only issue I have with it is the end is not threaded so I can't utilize the good that came with the lens when I am using this filter. I am assuming this is common with variable nd filters as they have to slide in order to adjust the strength of the filter. Anyways I am very happy with this.

Great product, however, the one I received was not in new, mint condition
A variable ND filter is essential when you want to shoot at large apertures outdoors with camera that does not have built in ND filters. This is one of the best quality filters on the market. I ordered this variable ND filter and was expecting a new product. The item I received showed evidence of being previously used, perhaps it was an item that was returned, but I was expecting a pristine, new item. I ended up purchasing the filter from a competitor and I am very happy with the filter (and it was in pristine shape).

Worth the Expense
I had a LCW fader which did horrible things to color. Yeah it was only $100 bucks but when your paying $5,000 for a camera and $500-$2000 (Still lenes) for lenses paying that extra couple $100's doesn't seem like a big stretch especially if you focus on good image quality like I do. This fader delivered a perfect picture and allowed me to get great DOF in the bright sun. I like that it has the wheel to let you know how many stops you are using. Great purchase good for any camera without a built in ND filter. I used it on a Sony FS100.

The production description might be wrong! Be Aware!
This filter itself is excellent. I gave it a 1 star to warn people that the description of the product is very likely wrong. once I receive a correct product I may re-rate this product. Here is my story: I ordered two Heliopan variable ND filters one (77mm) from Green Mountain Camera, LLC and the other from Adorama (82mm) from their Amazon store last week.I am very disappointed. the product description says it is 1-6.6 stop. but the filters I received from both sellers are 1-6 stops. In both case, the filter box clearly states it is ND 0.3 - ND 1.8 which equals 1-6 stop.I am doubting if they are just coincident of mistakes in shipping from both seller? or it is wrong product description? or, the US market simply does not exist the ND 0.3- ND 2.0 Heliopan ND filters.I know the Heliopan ND 0.3-ND 2.0 filter does exist (at least in Europ). Because I did my research on web and youtube. there are pictures show filter boxs has Heliopan ND 0.3 -ND 2.0 printed.nevertheless, I have returned the filters, and I will order another one in hope that the sellers sent me the wrong product. I really wanted the 1-6.6 stop Heliopan filters.By the way the filters that I tried was performing excellent. except I have no way to know what is the maximum filtering power.

Great Filter
I use this on my Zeiss glass attached to my Sony NEX-FS100. This camera does not have built in ND's, so this has been a great solution.
