Inaccurate list of ingredients-NOT GLUTEN or SOY FREE
UPDATE 3/2014:For our family members that are not sensitive to either soy or wheat, this was still not a favorite soup. They didn't like the flavor. Even though it is not condensed, I got it to work in my favorite casserole but just didn't enjoy the flavor. Just blech--I threw the rest away after they sat on the shelf uneaten for over 3 years.2009:IF YOU HAVE GLUTEN SENSITIVITY OR SOY ALLERGIES, THIS IS NOT THE PERFECT SOUP YOU WERE HOPING TO FIND. The list of ingredients on Amazon is not correct!! The picture of the ingredients on the label is not accurate either. My children have Celiac disease and soy allergies. I hoped I had found the perfect soup. Sadly, it won't work for us. If you can tolerate small amounts of gluten, it may not be an issue for you. But, if you're like my children, and the slightest bit causes stomach cramping, then I would hesitate to try this. The listed ingredients here on Amazon AND on the manufacturer's website (which I did check before ordering because of Amazon's disclaimer stating they try to have accurate ingredient lists, but cannot guarantee) is DIFFERENT FROM THE CANS THAT ARRIVED IN THE MAIL from Amazon. The picture looks the same, but the ingredients are NOT.This soup is NOT SOY FREE (update: ORIGINALLY it was listed as soy free, though it doesn't make that claim now) OR GLUTEN FREE (Yeast Extract - is debatable, MAY come from BARLEY - and Natural Flavors - cannot be guaranteed GF by manufacturer on telephone, though it has a Certified GF label). Here's what the can label ACTUALLY lists:"Filtered Water, Organic Mushrooms, Organic Cream (from milk), Organic Rice Flour, Organic Mushroom Concentrate (Organic Mushrooms, Organic SOY SAUCE [Organic Soybeans, Organic Maltodextrin], Organic Mushroom Powder, Organic Butter [Organic Cream, Lactic Acid], Organic Molasses, YEAST EXTRACT, Organic Potato Flour, Organic Flavor, Natural Flavor), Organic Rice Starch, Salt, Natural Flavors, Organic Canola Oil, Organic Onion Powder, Organic Parsley, Organic White Pepper, Organic Thyme. CONTAINS MILK AND SOY"I called the manufacturer to double check about their Organic Soy Sauce containing wheat. They claim it does not. THEY COULD NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE "NATURAL FLAVORS" WOULDN'T CONTAIN GLUTEN. So it just depends on your level of sensitivity.

A lot of bent cans but soup is good!
Flavor was good...you would probably add more seasonings but still good. Didn't care for the bent cans!

Mm, mm good healthy soup.
This creamy soup is not “starchy” but a thin, full-bodied broth. “No added salt” soups are delicious! The mushroom soup is a favorite. I add it to casserole dishes, or gravy with meat, veggies dishes. JC

Problems with labeling
Health Valley cream of mushroom soup is listed as gluten-free on Amazon, but I contacted the source ([..]) and rec'd the message below:"Unfortunately we are unable to guarantee our Health Valley Organic Cream Of Mushroom Soup is gluten free. Consumer health and safety is our number one concern. We do not have lists of products that are specifically considered to be gluten free. Reading the label is the best way to check for the presence of ingredients which contain gluten. If gluten is a major ingredient, it will be specified in the ingredient list. For consumers concerned about the presence of trace amounts of gluten, we suggest avoiding products that include natural flavors or spices."In addition, the soup is incredibly fat-laden. A lot of "Natural cream" will clog up one's arteries as well as non-specific cream. It's unnecessary to load the product up with so much animal fat in my opinion.

Good soup, cheaper than at Whole Foods
I have purchased this at Whole Foods for years, but now I am so glad that I have found this at Amazon for cheaper. I get the automatic shipments and it is even cheaper. I have always been frustrated with the fact that all Campbell's Brand cream of _________ soups have partially hydrogenated oils in them, and when you are making casseroles, etc. for your family frequently, I did not want the added junk. The only issue with this line of creamy soups is that it is not condensed so recipes may be a bit runnier than with Campbell's soups, but it is worth it for me...not that much of a difference.
