One of the difficulties I find working with special needs kids, is that they might not understand the world as we do. For example, you tell them a leaf is green, then that is the color. If they see a red leaf in fall it often confuses them the first time but with repetition they will get it. Some concepts on the other hand are way to hard to teach like Metaphors and Similes. I have told kids the are as cute as a button and they started to look for a button. As cute as it was to see their responses, I did feel bad for all the confusion I caused them so I decided to give this toy a try.The Super Duper Metaphors and Similes Fun Deck cards comes in a flip top metal box. The metal box is very durable and easy to open and close. In side the box there are two answer cards, one idea card and 56 game cards. The cared are adorable. Each card had a funny picture onto with a metaphor or similes and threes answered on the bottom. It is up to the child to figure out the correct answer.For example on cared number 16, there is a picture of a swan wearing a tutu dancing. Under the adorable illustration is the text "the ballerina is as graceful as a swan really means…" and the child has to guess from three choices.I think this is a really fun way to help kids understand metaphors and similes. The illustrations are cute and they get the kids laughing. I am all for laughing and education so this set is a keeper.

My two grand daughters used these cards and it helped them to learn about metaphors and similies.

These are great cards and I like a lot of super duper's materials. I'd buy more from them if their prices were just more reasonable. very high priced for what you get
