puts the fizz in your step;
This is a wonderful item I have used up several gallons of water already and love it. it works great no problems. I push it and hold it down for a second and then on until I put in six sprays. The only thing I dislike is the flavors that I bought are great tasting but when added the fizz is not as strong. So I went back to cutting up my own lemon. but other than that it is perfect

The perfect family Christmas present ever!
It may be too early to tell but so far the Sodastream Jet is amazing!!!! Very easy to set up and even easier to use to make thr best soda from our filtered water system. My family and I orefer to use fresh lime and / lemon juice to flavor our beverage. The syrups that came with the package were OK but taste too artificial.

Sparkling water any time especially if you have young ones
The SodaStream Fizzi is easy to use and you can keep fizzy drinks on hand and make healthier choices.The unit is not electrified. You unscrew the cap on a large (and proprietary-style) cartridge of CO2 and screw it into the dispenser. You fill one of the bottles (claim of plasticizer to leach out) and that's done by screwing in a bottle, pressing the top button firmly down for two seconds and repeating 3-5 more times to carbonate the water. Very fast.You can buy more cartridges but they aren't cheap; it's the Razor Blade theory of selling you something. You can't refill the cartridges as they have a proprietary valve. SodaStream licenses the technology and you can find the cartridges for various prices.The fruit drops (no sugar or sweetener) that come with are really good. They aren't cheap either. You use a half tsp per bottle and get a nice fruit essence. The flavor is said to be from natural sources. I tried the mango and it was delicious. I'm fussy about flavors and this was truly tasty. You can get other drops (the bundle comes with raspberry and mango.) Lemon, watermelon, lime, orange, peach, cucumber. You can also make cola and flavored soda pop (most seem to come with sucralose to "reduce calories." I don't use sweeteners and the natural essence drops to me are the way to go. If you need "soda" with sugar, mix fifty-fifty with your favorite juice.You can find glass bottles but I'm of two minds about that. Since the unit is putting pressure on the contents, if the bottles are scratched or dinged, they can under rare instances explode and that doesn't happen with plastic. Also, if you have kids, they are going to be using this to get fizzy water and plastic works better for them. I'm ok with the plastic bottles.The value pack here (extra cartridge, two bottles, fruit drops) was the better deal and it went on sale so follow your sale flyers and emails for deals.My friends in Germany have one of these and this summer, I decided I wanted one, too. They have two boys who drink a lot of water, and they drink "sprudel" at dinner, as well as mix their apple juice with sparkling water to make "Apfelschorle"--fizzy apple soda. I like juice now and then and I always dilute with fizzy water. Try it. (Cranberry, mixed fruit, grape, apple.) The use of fizzy water cuts way down on the sugar and the kids drink it happily. Water drinks are very popular in Germany because no one drinks tap water and they often get cases delivered; using the SodaStream, you don't have to drag cases of bottles in the house or store them. The German diet is heavy in wholegrain breads, so you do tend to drink a lot at meals. You also have smaller houses with less storage space in the pantry--and recycling is important.

Surprisingly economical
I got this set with a Black Friday deal. It came with 3 1-liter bottles, 2 CO2 canisters, and a couple of flavorings that I didn’t think that I would use. It is easy to use, just screw in the bottle of water and hold the button down for 5 seconds. The device seems a bit on the flimsy side, so I will need to be gentle with it. I am still on the first canister after 1 1/2 months of using 1-2 liters per day. My son likes the flavors, so I may actually get more when these run out. I read that the Target Returns desk will do canister exchange as will Staples and a few other places, so you can avoid the shipping charges with the vendor. I am surprised that this actually seems to be more economical (and of course less wasteful) than my habit of buying/drinking 2-liter bottles of soda water.

Absolutely worth the penny
I have had habit of drinking of plain club soda after every time I had a heavy meal. But, getting club soda in US is bit harder and you won't get everywhere. After I have bought this, I felt like I have got the best soda maker that I am waiting for so long. Just mix your soda water with some mint leaves, salt and ice cubes and your soda will taste super awesome and its really addictive. Great soda maker

Machine performance and ease-of-use is great. Big problems with the machine build.
Pros: The Jet was extremely easy to set up and use. I filled the bottles with cold water, screwed in the gas canister and one water bottle, and four presses later, had perfectly fizzy water. There are very few moving parts and only one button, so I suspect that users who are having trouble are not completely screwing in the water bottle before carbonating.Cons: The build of this machine definitely has some issues. The valve and screw mechanism (where the pressurized gas canister meets the machine) is plastic, not metal.Almost as important: there is no lockout. This means that the button on top can be depressed at any time, releasing gas whether or not there is a water bottle screwed in. The release of gas is not very strong, but it does mean that user error is going to occur (such as not having the water bottle completely seated and screwed in) and anyone can come along to press the button and waste gas, which I would foresee kids doing. A simple mechanical lockout would have prevented both problems.Overall, I'm happy with my purchase, and hopefully will enjoy fizzy drinks for some time to come, but I'm not sure that I would recommend this machine to a nervous user, or somebody who is looking for a lifetime purchase.

Love to drink water again!
I love this so much! I know I should but don't really enjoy drinking still water in that much. It's so much easier to stay hydrated when I can make my own healthy sodas without sugar or weird chemicals. I'm glad the kit came with 3 bottles because I use at least that many every day. I found the included flavors to be weird but I love to use use natural flavors like vanilla & almond extracts or soaking ginger root or lemon and lime peels overnight in the finished carbonated water.I used to occasionally get seltzer from the store, but this way is so much simpler (no lugging heavy bottles into the house, no sorting those bottles for recycling/deposit), not to mention cheaper, and it's a lot harder to run out when you can just make more in your kitchen and exchange the cylinders online through the mail.

didn't come with the flavours as stated
Opened this up to make sure I could wrap it all and the flavours where not included in the kit. Interesting as that is why I bought this one and not a cheaper one.
