Difficult to start but workable
The clamps hold the fabric a lot more tightly than I thought they would so I was pleasantly surprised there. It's tricky getting the fabric straight on the rod and under the clamp at the same time. Four hands might help. I think I'd rather have the kind of rod with the webbing strip onto which you baste your piece but I could not find any. Once the fabric is on it works well and it's not coming off until the project is done.

I love these frames, I now have every size they offer, I use them for my cross stitch, holds the material tight. Very easy to use. My Lowery stand holds them well.

Good, but needs some quality control in manufacturing
I have not used these yet, but the size appears accurate when compared against my 24" split rails. My only concern is that the plastic cover parts were poorly manufactured with lots of jagged bits along the inside of the ends, big enough to easily catch and tear any fabric. I have what I need at home to fix it and make it usable, but what a waste of time to have to fix something that should have been caught and corrected through quality control.

Excellent Quality
Buy these if your needlepoint canvas is wider than the stretcher bar set.

Good, but....
I received my clamp version of scroll rods today and got a project ready to go only to find that the bolts in the ends of the rods are fatter than the old EZ Stitch that had the webbing stapled to them. It's Sunday evening and I won't be able to stitich until I can get to a hardware store to purchase some wing nuts that will fit and allow me to tighten my project. It would have been nice had Edmunds made this change clear to purchasers.

I won’t be ordering these items again
I was expecting the new sew with Velcro and it didn’t have it so it really didn’t work the way I expected it to
