High quality paper. I thought the texture of the Ingres paper might be a problem but it’s great. I am using watercolor pencils with a light wash.

I play and play with painting ideas in these journals. Also great travel sketch journals.

My favorite journal for pencil and very fine pen and ink such as micron 005. Even though the paper has a pronounced texture you can put in a lot of detail. And so many pages so probably not first choice for a carry-it-everywhere type of journal. If you love smooth paper this is not for you.

I bought this for an art journal primarily to be for my colored pencils, but have found that the texture and tooth of the paper is a little too heavy to get a smooth blend without the use of Gamsol. Well, when I used Gamsol it of course leaked through to the other side. Next I tried markers and most of them worked well, however, the Copic and Sharpie markers bled through but that was expected Copic markers bleed through almost everything! Tombow Brush pens worked very well as did the Bic Conte Fine Point Felt Markers, Signo Uni ball white and gold pens, all gel pens I tried, and Sakura Brush pens. I have also been able to paint using watercolor and acrylics and the pages hold up pretty well with just a little curling. It has a ribbon bookmark but no elastic closure that some journals have. I have not tried gesso yet, but I was able to apply a thick layer of Dr PH Martin Bleed Proof White to correct some mistakes. Perhaps with gesso the Copic and Sharpie markers would be less likely to bleed.I have used several pens and graphite pencils to practice drawing and I am quite happy at this point. The journal is a little heavy and has lots of pages so it doesn't travel well but functions great as a home journal.

Questo è decisamente un prodotto molto elegante. Arrivato in perfette condizioni avvolto da pellicola (forse lo avrei protetto un po' di piu), si tratta di un libro con un importante numero di pagine in alternanza di due colori, bianco e tinta sabbia/crema. La carta è leggera tra gli 80-90 gsm, in trasparenza si denota una tramatura a righine fitte orizzontali e una specie di filigrana di linee verticali (allego una foto sperando si possa notare). Questo libro è adatto sicuramente per un bullet journal, uno sketchbook e per scrittura in generale. La carta non credo possa supportare il bagnato come ad esempio per acquerelli, e conviene sempre fare un test di ghosting nelle ultime pagine, per pennarelli e marker (sicuramente quelli ad alcool passano moltissimo), in questo caso conviene mettere un cartoncino tra il foglio utilizzato e quello sottostante. Per il mio utilizzo è perfetta per i disegni a penna, grafite e matita colorata, avendo sempre l'accortezza di posizionare il cartoncino a protezione. Resta un bellissimo prodotto piacevole da usare e da sfogliare. Personalmente lo consiglio. Lascio a riferimento delle foto.

Been journalling for years and these are probably the best books you can get at the moment for my process.I have used both sizes of the Fabriano Artists Journal and love them as it is hard to find a quality sketchbook with decent paper and a huge wad of pages.Both size books have lasted years almost being completed without the spine breaking. However, the smaller size cover did decide to come off. The larger A5 cover hasn't come off at all. I didn't reinforce the cover by duct taping it to the first and last page of the book. I just duct taped the outside so it would last a bit longer being bashed about in my bag.Both have had watercolours, acrylics, lots of collage and inks in. Never been a problem.Just wish they would make more books this fat! And maybe with squared paper.....

Diciamo che per fare qualche schizzo a matita e abbastanza passabile...esteticamente e ok ma i fogli sono troppo sottili... Io lo sto utilizzando per fare esercizi e la matita si vede dall altra parte... Il foglio ha una trama strana... Rigata e la matita scorre a fatica sul foglio... Buona la quantità dei fogli ma a questo punto è meglio comprare un quaderno a fogli bianchi...

Lovely paper of good quality.Being able to draw on the slightly beige paper is a nice change to draw on the beige rather than just white/cream/ivory.Well worth the investement.
